SOLD -- 1988 535is Alpinweiß 173k mi. $7500 OBO

Post by a54atii »

Alpinwhite with Pacific Blue interior and black E34 front seats, 5-speed, operational A/C, 172,800 miles (and will continue to go up as I am driving it daily). Not rust free but very solid with only a few areas of concern – these include bottom of drivers’ door, bottom corner of rear window, and a few spots of minor surface rust.

Interior is in good condition with the normal cracks in the dash and a slight discoloration in the headliner where it runs down the c pillar.

The original sport seats did not come with the car, so I installed black E34 comfort seats in front. The car is mechanically sound and running Castrol 20/50 in engine, with Redline in tranny and diff. I have driven this car almost daily over the past year with no issues other than a new radiator and new tires (BFG G-Force Sport Comp 2 -- fronts with ~15k miles, rears with 3k miles). It has very responsive steering and a strong clutch. The brakes have been converted to vacuum assist (hydroboost delete). There are a few imperfections in the paint, but this is an original California car, then DC, then VA. It has been in Ohio for a little more than a year.

The previous two owners did the following maintenance and mods: Z3 shifter, tranny mounts, seals, trunk seal, taillight gaskets, Lemforder dogbones, Meyle upper thrust arms with HD bushings, new catalytic converters, new master cylinder, new SS brake lines, Racing Dynamics strut bar, euro headlights, Koni adjustable struts/shocks, new diff mount, low mileage 3.46 LSD, O2 sensor, Mustang 19 lb injectors, new brake rotors and pads, alternator, D’Sylva Ultrachip, M3 shift knob, thermostat, voltage regulator, E30 vacuum booster, poly subframe bushings, H&R springs.

Maintenance and mods during my ownership: new radiator, two new E34 17x8 M-system wheels to make a square setup (two 17x9 wheels and a 17x8 spare are also included), replaced trunk liner and toolkit, finished vacuum brake conversion, new stereo head unit and front speakers.

The following are also included: M30B35 intake manifold and the complete M30B35 Motronic 1.3 electronics swap setup that hasn't been installed yet, E34 front brakes, 15” Style 26 wheels with Michelin X-Ice tires used one season.

This E28 is a lot of fun to drive and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it, but I’ve decided to go in a different direction. I’m in the Dayton, Ohio area. Inspections and offers are welcome.

looks pretty clean; straight. too bad about the front seats, but those can be sourced.

i'm going to go out on a limb here and say more pics are gonna be required for this bunch of knuckleheads. interior, trunk, engine bay, etc.

GLWS!
