My front passenger tire has like 2 degrees positive camber and tire wear is nuts on a summer compound tire. I'm pretty positive the car was hit on that side since the strut assembly was painted silver and the tie rod looked a lot newer than the other side. In any case I personally have replaced the upper and lower CAs and I put a bare style 5 wheel on and took lip to strut assembly measurements to eliminate the possibility of a bent strut assembly/knuckle. Measurements were essentially the same between sides. I'm pretty sure I've eliminated every possibility short of a tweaked unibody for my camber issue. I called the local stealership and asked if they have any measurement sheets but the lady stated that she didn't have access to them (of course). So does anyone have a dimension sheet to check against?
Something similar to this
EDIT:I contacted another dealer and he said he can provide them but not for cars as old as our e28s. I contacted BMW Classic to see if they have a copy somewhere in their archives.

Re: Front End Unibody Measurements / Camber Issue
I've got access to all the factory jigging procedures and measurements, I'll have a look if our system goes back as far as the e28.

This is all I have:
Re: Front End Unibody Measurements / Camber Issue
Many thanks kzolee. I guess my best bet is to measure between the leading edge between the holes in the strut towers and see if its 994 mm. I'll be interested to see what Das_Prachtstrasse comes up with and if the dimensions are similar to the things kzolee posted.
I did get a response from BMW Classic...

In which case here are my dimensions (with quite sad contrast)
or these. Only difference is something with some mounting points in the rear end. Maybe the larger dimensions for 6 cylinder models and the smaller the euro 4 cyl models? Either way the front end dimensions are the same.
Interesting how it states that these dimensions are "rough checks" only. I wonder where the "approved attachments" are....I would love to take a look at those....Or maybe those are what kzolee posted.
Despite having the online BMW repair manuals bookmarked I never really looked through them until now. Man those black and white photos are abysmal, I hope the actual printed copies were nice and sharp for the poor mechanics.

Now I'm pretty sure 01 91 0 032 777 is the CD version of this.Dear Mr Click,
Thank you for your email.
These measurements are shown in the repair manual CD for the BMW 5 series E28 which you can order through your local BMW dealer. The order No. for the English language version is:
01 91 0 032 777
We hope this is helpful for you.
Yours sincerely,
Andreas Harz

Re: Front End Unibody Measurements / Camber Issue
I suspect the bottom has greater potential for causing 2 degrees off than the top. And you would need to triangulate measurements, the frame rails could be parallel, but bent. You can always file the top strut mount holes oval and get some adjustment there, but 2 degrees is a lot, WAG suggests almost 8MM per degree. Is the other side in spec for camber?
