Today is the day for a big PNW BMW show: The "34th Annual Gathering of the Heritage"

I've decided to enter Vlad in the concours. I've never entered a real concours before. I won and got 2nd in show-and-shines with my Porsche, but I've never been REALLY judged before. I figure with the shape the engine is in I have that part nailed. I spent all day yesterday on the exterior and interior. It should be an enlightening experience.

If you're attending and take pics, post them here. I'll do the same.

Well, I certainly didn't win. But I don't think I lost either. I learned a lot. Mostly that I while I love having a super-clean and detailed car, I don't really care to do the work required to actually win one of these things. Maybe with my 911, or a car I fully restore, but not my 179K daily driver.

Vlad showed well. More pics over on his thread (see my sig).

In the same class was this amazing Zinno M3. It either has clear-coat or was re-sprayed. No way that finish is original (people say that about Vlad too, but THIS car's finish was...wow).

Nice guy, Dane, I think, a few cars down with this beauty of an M5. He's owned it since 1988. 2nd owner.

Hennarot M3. Another stunner.

A much nicer Maytag than Maytag.

Five or six sweet E9s were on display. My daughter really liked the color combination of this one.

Although I am most partial to Bill Spornitz's recently completed 3.0CS.

I might be biased because that's my valve cover (I sold it to him for $0 because he let me oogle his build). BTW, he rattle canned it with "Stainless Steel" paint...which looks REALLY good; even better than the Aluminum powder coat I did on Vlad's intake.

Here's a pic of Mike from Seattle. Really, that's him.

Another great looking E9. Love this color.

Chris should like this. Golf yellow.

Both Christine & Coco liked the Isetta.

FWIW, there was not a SINGLE E34 on display.

Nice weather. Nice cars. Nice event.

It makes me tired thinking of all the time spent keeping those things shiny.

Haha. No, that's not a dog.

If it were, though, that'd be the leash wrapped around her paws.
