Drove it home from Seattle last weekend. 134k, runs like a Swiss watch, drives like it's coming home new from Kuni BMW. Never thought I'd be jealous of my wife, her e28 is on the road and mine isn't yet. Oh well, mine will be more fun.

Nice looking car and nice that you have an accepting wife of the old 5er habit.
Re: The wife's new chariot
When it comes to 'my' habit, I can drive whatever rattletrap I feel like. When it's her car, she only asks that it looks good and is reliable. That said, she does like the car for what it is, and there are cars she thinks are unattractive. However, she doesn't like to have to re-learn where are the controls are and how they operate. To her, every car should have the exact same arrangement of every switch and stalk.

'82 or '83?
Re: The wife's new chariot
It is an '83. Has a service indicator and bottlecaps.
