I was going to have a guy make the box for me. I met with him yesterday and he did not have the time. I did buy some "black" sheet aluminum from him ($5). Here are the results from about an hours work. The interior is coated with the same adhesive insulation that I uses on the cold air intake box. It is not attached, the fit was so tight with the weather strip that I don't think it will need to be. I will check it after running the car over 100 mph and see if it stays in place. I had to make it a two piece due to all of the crap in the way of R&Ring it. I have saved the cardboard templates if anyone is interested. I also have enough aluminum to make several more.

I feel much better with the three HEers installed now. I have increased the HE fluid cooling capability from the s2 kit by 100%. S2 kit came with two 5.5" X 11" HEers. I installed them and another 11 X 11 HE which is the same size as the two together that were supplied in the s2 kit. That seems to me to be 100% more HE and thus 100% more cooling capability. Not to mention 100% more coolant available filled in the new HE vs just the two + what is in the additional hose. I am sure there will be a performance increase in the cooling of the IC coolant.
Yet another "think to do" out of the way.

He had rolls of it that he was going to use on an interior of a drag car. It looks to be a powder coat finish that has protective plastic that you peal off when all of the cutting is finished.grsmonkey wrote:Where did this guy get you "black" alum.? Brake? No, don't think so. The one 90 degree bend I made was on my woodworking bench vise.
Thanks for the complement. I mainly just got lucky. Once I did pull off the plastic, there was a 1" scratch right in the middle of the cover
UPDATE -
Running with 300% more HE capacity has really been nice.
My last two data logs have shown IAT temps in the low 100s F. I even noticed that under full boost the IAT initally drops and then will creap up a few degrees after the pull.
I have increased my timing to what other FI M30s are running and no pinging is audible.
I am very happy with the mod.
