SOLD SOLD... 1987 535is Euro conversion Turbo car

Post by alijonny »

To start with, it is a 1987 Lachssilber 535iS that I bought from the second owner in 2007. The car came from the east coast and somehow made it's way to me. It is by far not perfect and needs to be tuned, so a truck/trailer or someone with Megasquirt experience will be required. The car has been stored in my shop for the past 2 years as I have been completing the install of the turbo and megasquirt box. the car does run and drive, but I wouldn't recommend driving any farther than onto a trailer. I put about 15k or so on the car since I bought it. When I first got the car the head gasket was blown because the previous owner failed to diagnose a bad fan clutch. I caught it as I repaired the car and installed a replacement cylinder head. It was an awesome car until I decided to turbocharge it. it has been a project ever since. I have basically lost interest in the car and have decided to move on to something newer. The car itself minus turbo parts and cylinder head all have about 175k miles. A look at the 100+ photos hopefully tells the story of this car. http://www.snapfish.com/snapfish/thumbn ... =snapfish/
here is a list of parts of interest, I may be forgetting some, but this gives the idea of parts.

euro bumpers
euro valance
euro M5 front spoiler
euro headlights and turn signals
black sport interior
lachs rear spoiler
sport steering wheel
saab moonroof
small euro parts inside the car (seatbelt holders, dash vent upgrade)
most the stock parts that would be on a 1987 535is
clean rust free doors in black and zinno, some already completely stripped of hardware and ready for PDR.
60-2 trigger wheel
6 pin tps
750 big brakes in front
750 rear calipers/ e34 6 speed rotors

these things have less than 1 hour of run time on them:
Turbonetics T4 turbo (will get the specs) built by Arizona Tractor Supply.
custom tubular manifold that utilizes flipped manifolds
42lb fuel injectors
Megasquirt with glens garage idle board
jimstim
full 3" mandrel bent exhaust
ebay special FMIC
steel piping from turbo to intake
oil line to turbo -4an
oil drain
autometer sport comp 52mm boost gauge
Apexi BOV
Turbonetics 35mm Wastegate
Summit racing Innovate WB kit

The car also has eibach pro kit springs, and naked throwing star wheels (2 cast, 2 forged, all 17x8, all true) They are not in the pictures because they are currently running on my 745i.

I hosted the pics on snapfish, I hope it isn't a big deal to see them, sorry if they make you sign up to view pics. If you have any questions, send a pm or email me.

I put together a price of what I paid for all this stuff listed including the car, and all parts listed and I have about $4,600 tied up over time not included my personal labor. I will let the whole car go for $2700 for members of mye28 only.

If I were in the market, I might have. ;) I just wanted to make sure you were aware in case you had trouble finding a buyer. Glad to hear that you didn't.

Yeah: That was one heck of a deal, rust or no. Who's the lucky/smart new owner? Anybody we'd know?

I emailed you about this like 18 hours after it was posted up and it already had a deposit on it. Didn't even notice you live in the same town either. Looked gorgeous in the pictures.

I'll let him chime in if he wants. I probably should have priced the car a bit higher, lol. too late for all that, maybe next time! shipping arrangements have been made, so just waiting at this point. Thanks guys.
