It does indeed....

Pricing could make for a good entry point into the e9 world, though any mention of 'surface rust' on those cars indicates frightening possibilities underneath. Love those cars..... Must.... stop.... reading.... thread....

My bank-acct would be sorry! :D I'm sort of half-serious right now about moving... trying to convince myself it's the thing to do b/c interest rates are so low (money isn't going to be a whole lot cheaper than it is now, imho).

That, and I'm crazy jealous of your bmw-garten and want some land like that to start my own! I used to think I didn't want a bunch of land to have to 'manage', but the older I get, the less I like living 10' away from my neighbors with a useless back-yard that I could maybe only fit 1 or 2 old BMW carcasses in!

I just need to get serious and start looking at squaring up money for this is all. Sorry.. getting off-topic here I guess.

Blue-Plate 3.5L 1971 BMW 2800 Sedan

This 1971 BMW 2800 has been upgraded with a 3.5 M30 engine, 5-speed transmission, and our favorite 16″ Alpina style wheels. Few other details are given, though the seller adds that much work has been done, and that it previously belonged to noted E9 coupe expert Carl Nelson in San Diego. Find it here on Craigslist in Walnut Creek, California for $11k.

Unfortunately divorce causes sale.
Great car. Purchased from Carl Nelson the owner of La Jolla Independent. Carl is one of the gurus when it comes to early Bimmers. The previous owner had installed a 3.5 L M30 and a 5 speed.
I did a lot of work. I have receipts. I wouldn't hesitate to drive across country.
Rear end shot was before repaint.

Bumper conversion (BMP? Definitely not OEM M-Tech) looks well done--too bad about the automatic and Alpina fakeydoo items. At least the seller is upfront about it and it looks like a very clean e28.

I have the euro itch since the Vintage...

This could be pretty cool I think. Bummer about the tires on it. No way those are 235/45's.

That car was $2900 at the end of 2008 (had an Alpina spoiler on it then). The motor uses a quart of oil every 500 miles, which was quoted as the norm from Metric Mechanic. You couldn't pay me to own that car.

I've seen it on Interstate 8 once between Gila Bend and Yuma.

This car has been up for sale for some time now. I would imagine the automatic kills it for most.

Black/Black Canadian M5 on the Bay -

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1988-BMW ... 4166488b56

Missing some trim bits here and there, it's ass looks very saggy. Seller's description says it is a 9 out of 10, so maybe the pictures just don't do it justice. Nah - it's just not a 9 out of 10.

But it is an M5, and it's black on black at that!

The 1987 red BMW 535is is worth nothing more than a 500 dollar car. Upgrades do not make the price of the car go higher , especially in the condition its in. It needs paintwork all around . Rust, Bondo and bodyfiller cracks everywhere. ... Carpets all torn up, engine bay witing looks like some kid just spliced everything all together , Speakers Not even screwed in and just sitting in the mounts . He said he had bbs wheels but they're just oem style 5 BMW wheels that are usually on sale on Craigslist for a cheap price. Paint is horrible . For 2800 u can get a Great e28 on "mye28" forums. Don't waste your time like I've wasted mine. It's nowhere near clean. A e28 for 2800 that needs more than 5000 of work? Lol you have to be kidding me

Selling my Sterling Silber Metallic M-Technic with 210K miles, auto, original paint (needs repaint as clear coat has started peeling), canvas leaks and needs replacement ASAP (I have a hardtop installed that is not for sale), all panels have matching VIN, interior in very good condition (seats taken off an M-Technic with 95K miles), and 15" Euro weave wheels. I have recently replaced the cat and muffler including all hangers. Price $6,500 as-is, will consider replacing top and timing belt for additional money. No trades.

This is a factory M-Technic with option 771, M-Technic Luxusausstattung which includes:
M-tech II Body Kit
M-technic trunk and grill badges
M-technic suspension
M-technic door sills
15" Euro weave wheels
Extended leather (stitched leather trim on the shifter, console and door panels)
M-cloth interior

The more common M-technic "Appearance Package" (Option Code 770) only has M-tech II Body Kit.

I was reading that saying, "That's an odd way to advertise a car. Why would you say it's worth $2300 less than you're asking?"

I've seen a few of these 'hater' ads lately. I hope it isn't a sign of things to come. I don't even see the original ad any longer.

I did like the "mye28" recommendation.

BMW 528e -- solid parts car - $600 (near AACC)

This is a 1986 BMW 528e offered up as a parts car. Very little rust, lots of lightly used parts. Silver exterior, burgundy interior. Automatic transmission.

The car was parked 5 years ago. At the time, everything was in good running order except the exhaust and minor stuff that is common with e28s. All that I've pulled off of it is the rear windshield and spare tire/rim.

I'm losing my storage space, so my loss is someone else's gain. The car easily has $2,000 in remarketable parts. Must be gone by 6/4, best offer takes it. Cash only. Interesting trades may be considered.
