engine:
eta block, custom 9.1:1 pistons, 325i head and manifolds
dynoed at 148whp at 5150 with chipped motronic 1.0
ecu:
MS1 Extra (high-res firmware with a couple of mods)
(2.2 board with BIP373 and VR sensor circuits added on)
60-2 trigger wheel with vr sensor (retrofitted from 325i)
GM air temp sensor
stock coolant sensor
stock coil/distributor
3 bar FPR
stock injectors
2x 3-ohm 25-watt resistors for injector current limiting
stock ICV/ICM/CSV
stock O2 sensor
In retrospect, I probably should have used a 3.0 board, as getting the 2.2 ultimately did not save any time or money after the needed mods for this application.
The MS is connected to a 35-pin Bosch connector, early version of the harness seen here:
Only the wiring for the VR sensor and IAT was run separately.
UPDATE
Dyno:
There was a modest power gain. But the VE table needs more work, as it was too rich at 3500 for instance. I have picked up a few mpg with MS, managed to hit 30mpg highway. Tables used for the dyno run:
my m20 megasquirt (dyno results)

I got WOT open loop mode to work today. Here is the circuit I`m using to convert switch positions into voltage levels.
(yes it would be bad if idle and WOT switches were somehow closed at the same time)
I swapped the stock ECU back in to check the fuel rate output signal (pin 11) with a scope. It seems that the line is pulled up at the instrument cluster, the ECU just grounds it for a period of time when the injectors fire. I am going to try connecting it to one of the injector outputs on the MS and see how that goes.
