Ok, so they are not of a bmw. Here are a few photos I took while I was in Colorado last month. Got a new Canon 20D and 17-40L lens right before I went, and well, I took just over 6k photos!! Hope you guys don't mind me wasting a little space on the board!!
Nice, I've also got the 20D. I love the images you can get with the 17-40. How did you do the B&W conversion?

The 20D is just plain awesome. That chip along with the L glass in the 17-40 makes for some awesome clarity. I am driving to Canada with my best friend in Aug and plan on coming down through the rockies hitting about 6 of the national parks. Before I go I hope to aquire a 70-200 f/2.8 L if not an IS if I can find a good used one.......and don't even ask how much that will put me out!!!
As for the B&W conversion I used Adobe Photoshop CS to clean it up and then to the conversion. If you have any questions about it feel free to email me.
Graham,
Very nice photos. Are you a professional or amateur photographer?
Curious what areas of Colorado you were visiting. Wow...6,000 photos...impressive!
Thank Tim,
As of now I am just an amateur photographer; partly b/c I don't want the stress of someone depending on my work. I am self taught and have learned through wasting a lot of film....trust me, you don't want to see my stuff from 6-7 years ago!! Although I do sell stormchasing video to different news networks I have yet to sell any prints. This is mostly due to the fact that I have yet to get my website up and going. My friend is doing it for me and I have completely given up on any sort of time frame. A few of the stormchasing photos are up at http://www.darkskyproductions.com/2005/june12 but 99% of my stuff is still in slide form waiting to be scaned
When I was in Colorado the field camp was based just outside of Canon City and we spent 90% of our time in Fremont County. But we did travel around. For example the tree shot was taken on Phantom Canyon road on the way to Cripple Creek, Waterfall shot just outside of Georgetown, and the dog shot was taken in Stillwater Oklahoma...lol. I will have a ton more photos online in the upcoming weeks but will likely spare bandwidth and just post the links to my site.
thanks again
