Yeah - every silver lining has a cloud... and here's what needs fixing in my new can...
New rack and CD header to be fitted to replace this:
New shift knob and gaiter to replace these:
Some re-upholstery on the drivers seat:
A new hood lift and cable:
and a good valet! I'll replace the wheels when the TRX tyres wear out.
The fly in the ointment!
The fly in the ointment!

where doers the heater/ ac unit go on these cars? i.e the hole where the fan goes in mine
There is no AC...heater is still there..the general fan that doubles for the heater fan is behind the firewall under the hood.
I beleive it is a RHD 528i M30. same as mine. but mine has AIR Con.
Did you chrome your front Grille Tusker?
My cloth Recaros are worn n the exact same place. (i was considering just a leather patch till i can afford a full leathe re-trim.

As Aaron says there's no A/C and it's a RHD GB spec 528iSE. See my other posts for full spec and also what the car looks like now all these blemishes have been resolved.
I think that the front grill is silver plastic - I've never seen another like it. The car has only had two previous owners neither of whom made any changes to the car (with the exception of the rear electric sun blind).
I just got the seat wings reupholstered - cost me 120 to have done. You can get a full seat cover from BMW in the UK for 140 (top and bottom) but together with fitting I thought I'd save my money for fuel and just fix the worn bots.
