Hi Everyone,
I just got this car, and its my first!
It cost me $1000 AUD.
I had it checked out by the mechanics and they said that the engine is fine, with the only problems being the wheels being slightly out of alignment and the suspension needing replacement next year.
Its an auto and has 190,000km on it.
What do you guys think of my car?
Was it a good deal?
Thanks,
Mitchell Palmer

Nope, no rust in the car, had it completely checked over by the NRMA before i bought it (free inspection ).
What sort of upgrades do you mean?
In Australia we are not allowed to have any performance engine modifications done to the car whilst we are on our Provisional license, so a turbo is out of the question, lol.

Hey man nice car. looks really good. any 5er with no rust and in decent running condition is a winner. looks good man and when your ready to do the suspension you sould put on some progressive sport springs from bavarian auto sport. www.bavauto.com they give you a soft ride but wonderfull handleing around the turns and a lower profile look/ride. It looks like a great car but you should post some more pics of it. like the back of the car, interior, and under that hood. have fun with it man.

Nice... I love it. My first car was 320i. I wonder if the engines are the same. I've never seen a 520i here in the states, but I have not really seen too many other e28s around here either. Have you ever seen a movie called The Peacemaker with George Clooney? Well... it's terrible because a Mercedes trashes three or four 520i's. I cried a little inside. Anyway... good luck with your car!

Congrats on your find! I have five good Michelin TRX and metric wheels I can send to you on the slow boat to Australia if you want them...LOL Welcome to the site and post often. I don't know, offhand, if there are any other 4-cylinder (m10?) e28 owners on the board but there are a LOT of technically saavy DIYers here who can help you if you have any questions. Post more photos of your car if you can...
Cheers,
Tim

I believe the 520i had a smaller version of the M20 six-cylinder, the "baby six." The 518 was a 4-banger. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong!)
