1984 533i Euro Bumper Conversion
1984 533i Euro Bumper Conversion
There is a great FAQ in the Tech FAQ section, but I thought you might like to see my Euro bumper conversion pictures.
Paul Ladue provided all hardware in a fantastic kit making the hardest part of this process a breeze. Every nut, bolt, bracket and clip was included. With the FAQ and Paul's guidance, this job was much easier than I thought and was accomplished in just a couple of days.
I would like send out a huge thanks to Paul. I appreciate all the help he provided in this process and for doing an awesome job of putting everything together in a nice easy package.
If there is anything that isn't clear in the FAQ, please feel free to ask. There are many others out there that have made this conversion and I'm sure if I can't answer, somebody else will be glad to chime in.
Anyhow, enjoy the pictures!
Randy

Thanks for posting, I have a full euro valance including frame rail modification. As far as I know, I'm the only one who was crazy enough to swap both front and rear Core/ nose and rear tail panel. It is surprising how little conversion information with pictures are out there.
Props for keeping the early 82/84 era valance. All I would do is fill the bumper filler holes along the top of the bumpers.
Your car looks great.

Thanks for all the compliments!
I do plan to pull everything off again and I will take care of all those white bumper surround holes. The rear shock mount holes will also be addressed at that time. In the mean time I've sprayed all bare metal to keep the rust away so that I would have time to deal with it the right way.
I've really thought about this for years since the 533i was so close to stock, but in the end I decided to convert. I do have to say the US bumpers can look pretty good (like Rod's!), but I'm very happy with my decision and the results.
