Mooseheadm5 is a beamter now(?)
I just noticed, I didn't see an announcement though. I have to say I'm a huge supporter of this move if it's true. Paul has been swift, fair, accurate, and amiable in just about every post I've seen him make. Not to mention that he's one of the most active members here.
Congrats moose, and thanks for taking up the job.

So far as I am aware, I am the only person to ever have special priviledges revoked on this site.
Mom always said I was special.
I was never a beamter, but for several years after the switch to phpBB, for whatever reason, I had magical super-god access to the site. My name showed up in a different color, I think. This was an artifact of the initial migration to phpBB; some of you may recall that I wrote some custom software that converted the old users (and posts?) to the new phpBB format, and did some of the migration work and database magic.
My god-like status was tolerated until one day, someone posted something so stupid I just deleted their post out of frustration. Said person complained, and I readily owned up to my action to the real Beamters.
By that time, some other people (Justin?) who had more time and phpBB experience had arrived, and I no longer had an effective technology expertise extortion racket going. I had outlived my utility and was unceremoniously demoted
Have any other beamters, virtual or otherwise, ever been shown the door? I can't think of any...

There's one big one that you're forgetting. Name starts with an L and that whole saga still irritates me.Matt wrote:Have any other beamters, virtual or otherwise, ever been shown the door? I can't think of any...
