In the past week I've been getting the e2hate ready to be road worthy for when I move. Had some help from my friends too.
Replaced control arms uppers and lowers
Tie rods
Window seals
Radiator hoses
Welded in a bung hole into my exhaust
Spliced in a new O2 sensor
Vacuum lines
Fixed the falling off rear vent things
Reattached the seat back
Put the steering column back together from the ign switch fix
Threw in the Dinan chipped ECU (which sucks until you get to 6000 rpm, which is great for .25 seconds before shifting again)
Upgraded to a 90 amp alternator
Tightened my squealing power steering belt
Finally, I washed the car which revealed its glorious Maaco glitter bomb of a paint job. I wish I had left it dirty. I'm taking its first 100 mile run today since I've owned the car. Crossing my fingers.

Could you send the link for the pump? I need one toothespeedfactory wrote:Fuel pump, hoses, filter, rear diff mount, odo gears, 71 deg t-stat, outside window rubber trim.
Found the pump on amazon for $35. Identical in appearance to OEM. We will see how long she lasts.
Need a source for all 4 window channel rubber.
Back windows drag somethin fierce.
Drove it and it was awesome. Especially for driving a minivan for over a week straight.
Ordered my APEX 90mm lug stud conversion kit

Still under the hood of BB Shiftless. Between the mosquitoes and the heat , the pace has been snail like. I spend about equal time under the hood and in the house re-hydrating and cooling off. A wet cotton work shirt keeps me coolish. My bifocals are useless, they are covered in sweat and eye glop, So I'm feeling the work . I've worked up to the top end. It is just plugs , tighten the VC, put on new belts, replace the intake, add coolant and start. It has been a slow job. I hope to finish today
11AM Back in to cool and water. Just the coolant and the AFM left.
12 :30 , Back at it . engine was pretty clattery for a minute , but it soon settled down as I added coolant. I am running it at an Idle. The LF is blocked up , so I.m using the upper switch as a bleed. I ran it for 20 minutes with the heat on to burp the system . I added ~2 gallons of coolant. Running at idle with the cap off and no fan or shroud. The pump works , the ambient temp is 92 and its running with no pressure and no breeze cooling the radiator. Temp is 11 o'clock

Windshield, glass sun roof, and here's a picture of the cold air intake I made last week. My windshield was cracked beyond belief. Here is a $35 junkyard windshield. New rubber I had. New locking strip was a gift from a board member. Thanks much.
Glass was easy.... Iove it. Still need to adjust it a little.. but not today.
CAI, now that was a pain in the ass..... but it works great.. Before, the cone on the air filter would be extremely hot, now when I pop the hood and touch it, it ambient temp, not engine bay temp. I thought it may be restricted being I didn't remove a high beam, but on full boost, there is no lean condition..
Its sheet metal with two layers of cardboard on the inside covered with aluminum tape. No heat gets in there. The inside of the intake is always cool..

Fixed slow/non-functioning windows by cleaning window switch contacts, replaced all fuses, leveled the hood, shampooed the carpet, cleaned all vinyl surfaces, installed new shift knob and door lock knobs, fixed electric headrests, replaced computer back lights with LEDs, somewhat fixed the speedometer issue, and then washed it.
This is my first post on this forum!
I am fifteen years old and my parents purchased this 528e when I was born.
Mine and my dad's to do list (any helpful hints are welcome):
-Replace all bushings and mounting hardware on shift console
-completely fix the speedometers erratic behavior
-remove spots from plastic interior parts
-repair the intermittently working central locking system
-figure out what is causing the slightly fluctuating idle (the manifold gasket has been replaced, as well as the cold start valve but there must be a vacuum leak somewhere)
-fix sloppy steering,
-stop the vent things behind the back doors from falling off
As I said before if anyone has experience with any of this I am open to opinions.

Welcome! Sounds like you got a good start on getting the 528e cleaned up. As for your "to do" list, I'd suggest first using the search feature to read some of the previous posts on each topic/question, and then posting any additional questions or follow-up in the Tech Talk section, using each to-do item as a separate post as you get ready to work on each issue.Speedster990 wrote:

Thanks! Will do. This forum has some type of answer to virtually every problem I have now that I have looked into it.grahamular wrote:Welcome! Ok so I figured out where all the slop was coming from on the shift console! It was the stop buffer at the back. This piece functions as on of the main supports for the shift console and my console was rocking left and right so it would hit the sides of the transmission tunnels. This buffer was supposed to have two rubber prongs on it and in my case the top prong was completely gone. To fix this I took an appropriate sized bolt and lock nut and used a skate board bushing as a replacement for the rubber piece. I bolted it up (without dropping the driveshaft or exhaust) and virtually all shifter slop disappeared! WOOT!
Yeah, you're gonna fit right in here. Good Job!Speedster990 wrote:To fix this I took an appropriate sized bolt and lock nut and used a skate board bushing as a replacement for the rubber piece.
