Dang!!!
Three pages and I'm still not past the first post,
so we're gonna turn this into the "remodel my kitchen" thread?
Here's where Pavel and I started;
Unsure of exactly wifey's reaction to the other side we stopped there until that consultation could be made;
It's ended being finished where it started and she's happy.

Dang, it's been that long?
I'm so used to seeing the Touring on ramps and jack stands, it's pathetic.
Got the 3.73 in Snob's boot.
Last weekend I did get the ///M trailing arms removed but not prepped yet for installation on the T's subframe.
It would be nice if the ///M's subframe wasn't so rusty, then I could have just swapped it as a complete unit.
But then I wouldn't be doing the swap either.
Now that the flu has come and gone and my part of the kitchen remodel is done;
final project was the floor tile, wifey is doing her part, Venetian Plaster on the walls and staining the cabinets,
she's the best... , I can finally start to re-focus, that is if everything else holds together.

What'd you do with the electrical?1st 5er wrote:Dang!!!

Looks great, nothing like a happy wife to keep the real projects possible

I was kinda thinking the same thing; keeping that feature is worth the extra work to clean it up & repaint it, provided there aren't holes rusted in it, . A little surface rust won't hurt anything.mooseheadm5 wrote:The subframe is too rusty to use? Try to use it if you can for the adjustable toe.
Pictures of said car on jack stands would add a lot of value to a click, don'tcha think?
If you've already got the trailing arms and diff off the car, pulling the subframe is pretty easy. Yank that sucker outta there and take after it with a wire brush on a drill to see how deep the rust is. I'd bet a dollar it's not rusted through. If there's rust down there, I'd think the trailing arms would be worse off than the subframe.
Both subframes are out of both cars.davintosh wrote:If you've already got the trailing arms and diff off the car, pulling the subframe is pretty easy. They came out first and then the TAs came off.

Now, about all those questions...Minotaur wrote:Nice work. So no S38b36? M50 it is? Why did you switch gears, I ponder? Already have enough Motorsport iron around?
It's still the plan, but several things have to happen.
The major one being I wanted the suspension, brakes, etc. completed first.
Then there's that complete interior swap from tan to black, gotta keep Momma happy,
and since the S swap includes some under dash wiring, well...
In the mean time there are 4 other cars to be maintained/played with.
Not sure why we can't be content and just drive them.
So for now, ///M50iT it is.
