Send PMs To Multiple Members?

Post by davintosh »

This might be a dumb question, but is there a way to send a PM to more than one person at a time? I've tried it before and couldn't find a way to make it work; I'm getting ready to send out messages to a bunch of people for the Priority Mail Box Exchange, and being able to have more than one recipient would sure be nice...

Nope. Besides, multiple recipients would make that message a little less "private", doncha think? ;)

Copy - paste.

But "private" also implies "not public", as in not posted as a thread for all to read. Would be nice if it worked a bit more like email, but if wishes were M5s...

True. From a security standpoint though, I kinda like "features" that make it more difficult for spammers to spam the entire member list in one shot. Simple fact is, PHPbb2 doesn't support multiple recipients for PMs. I'm not sure if PHPbb3 does or not. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

It appears, looking at the PM screen, that PMs to multiple members might be possible now. I have no excuses to send a message to multiple people, but if someone else tries be sure to let us if it works. It appears both CC and BCC functions are available.
