Maybe they took me literally when I said "I'd like to ship this ground."

I gave my office address, as I'm there more than home. I expected the box on Friday, but nothing.

I was out of the office on Monday, and we apparently closed the office during lunch, and missed the mail lady. :bawl:

Our office was closed today, and I tried to track her down, but I couldn't find her in the neighborhood. :(

Try again on Thursday. *sigh*

Sorry man, at least this will give you a reason to go to work tomorrow. It will be worth the wait though, I think. Merry Christmas.

All this experiment does is show how much USPS sucks at delivering packages when they say they will.

I've received nothing as well.
Chris, don't ask me how I know, but I have a sneaky suspicion that your package has been delayed....

My youngest is 20 now so Christmas morning is all about...ME :D

I finally was able to open my PBE package from Duke. :alright: Eggnog in hand I cautiously approached and moved the box out from under the tree. It is quite heavy and creates a deep audible tone indicating their may be parts or shards in movement. Carefully and in anticipation, I unsealed the box as designed then, with it lying on the floor right side up, allowed the closure to open. I squealed in glee as the contents poured out; sugary treats in vibrant shiny wrappers, multi-colored golf balls, exotic literature, fabrics and delectables from the far east issued forth to my delight.
Image
This PBE box clearly received considerable thought and time as the contents were obviously gathered from around the globe. The eclectic nature of its treasures indicate the enlightenment of its creator - engineer, athlete, collector, connossieur and gourmet.

I am humbled and appreciative, Duke, and will put it all to good use and enjoyment.

Let's take a closer look:
Yum :)
Image
Hmmm, let's take an even closer look, these are some pretty rare edible treats, silkworm chrysalis and dried squid! We'll put getrecipes.com to work on these ingredients.
Image
-The eye of the tiger silk scarf. I can see the link there. :alright:
-XXL Warrior sleep shirt
- Megateeth Fossil Hunters SWAG from Georgia  We'll need a back story there, Duke, but for the record I have some megalodon teeth from my Scouting days and we periodically search out teeth and fossils along the banks of the Potomac, Rappahannock and Chesapeake.
Image
-Oct 2013 Sports & Exotic Car magazine from Hemmings. I'll now fix another nog and peruse the offerings.
I dig the "Camp Red Cloud Golf Club" logo ball. I'll look through for the ProV1 and distance balls.

Thanks, Duke, it is a fun PBE box filled with the promise of learning, golf and camaraderie.

Going to be preparing a beef tenderloin for the evening meal outside today. Maybe I'll take my box and those balls out there with my Lob wedge and get in some practice while the rotisserie does the work.  May God Bless you and all the MyE28'rs today, a day for celebration of good living for all mankind.

Opened my box box from Max this morning. I felt like Jason Bourne or some other secret agent: it contained a mini laptop computer (my tech savvy kids tell me it's a "netbook"), a German made gas mask and a bottle of blue chalkline chalk. I powered up the computer and it works great! Max had left me a post it note with the passwords to get into it. I am convinced it contains some files that give me the mission that I need to complete that will require the use of a gas mask and blue chalkline chalk. A very cool box! I am typing this post on the very computer that I received from Max this morning, how cool is that! I have an ipad that I usually use but there are times when I have to borrow one of my kids laptops to order parts from websites that aren't too ipad friendly. Thanks Max and Merry Christmas to all!Image[/img]

It's a keyring. It may not be hypo allergenic, but what you do with it is your business ;)

And now, my box from Indiana:
Image

Lots of fun stuff!
2 XBOX games
GNR CD
Video golf game
Iphone case
M30 filter
Head mounted light
Toy Mini
Small metric drill bit set
Super bright LED light
Pens, post its, zip ties, BMW roundel football, inflatable squeaky mallet (the cats just love being bonked on the head with it), stickers, UUC coupon, and a butterfly bottle opener.

One of my personal favorites is the stick on emblem with some of the best Engrish I've ever seen.

I have a little netbook that I added a Solid State Drive to (that's a hard drive that doesn't spin.) It uses way less battery, boots super fast, and makes the little guy run so much better. It's a perfect computer to grab for a trip. Lucky guy!

Glad you like it! That emblem makes me lol everytime I read it.

The Golden Tee Golf is pretty fun, especially when you play for shots, lol

Whoops...there was one left in there. Hiding in the mound of wrapping paper>>>

Image

What a pile of random booty:
Image

A dentist office tube of toothpaste
A dentist office refrig magnet with calendar (2014)
A grey T-shirt with a Speedo logo/painting on it.
A very cool Summit Racing cap
A (genuine) Jimmie Johnson"official fan" ID card hanging on a toyo tires lanyard

A talking monkey keyring with a GMC truck key on it.
Two Stihl mini screwdrivers
A baggie with some mexican candies in side and a decent looking mexican cigar

A champagne cork
A big scallop shell complete with organic material AND sand (surprisingly doesn't smell bad)

Two intact sand dollars and one that didn't survive the journey
A large caliber shell casing recovered from a lot of years in the outdoors/sand.

An all-plastic badminton birdie
A "rocket-man" pen
A CRUSHED beer can
A babies binky/pacifier (hope I get no use out of this)
A Bimbo (bakeries?) DC United fabric key fob
A golf ball and a pitch-mark repair tool
A (hopefully unused) CVS pharmacy disposable syringe
A "wooden nickel" chip redeemable for a Dairy Queen in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

A 1/2 inch setscrew collet (very timely, I need one of these)
A beer coozy from some random wedding
A golden lapel pin from a Baptist church in Sioux Falls
A really nice little skeleton handle pocket knife
5 magazines of various ilk
3 large size bottle rockets/fireworks (which we WILL shoot tonight)

A tazer looking device. Not sure exactly, but after I fix the broken battery wires and try it on the neighbor...

A DVD looking disc from RollsRoyce all about the Ghost
A home-burned CD which just says "bob" on it. (scared)

A BIG BLACK LUMP OF COAL. ACTUAL COAL. Could prolly heat the house for 6 hours on that thing. Big.

A narrow ring of copper pipe with "sipes" cut in it all the way around. Looks like a crown of thorns.

A BMW center logo for a mtech I steering wheel
A screwdriver/bottle opener thingy
A little purple bottle of bubbles
A square block of wood, very dense, maybe teak or similar
A unknown blue plug with o-ring for some sort of vessel
A "NO" button (says no in a variety of ways) WITH battery. I def need this for my kids various requests.

A new, unused handle/throttle/kill switch for a weedwhacker or similar machine

An unknown black plastic "spike" sort of thing with a nipple on the side. I suspect a small sprinkler device or spray nozzle of some variety, but I really don't know.

And the crown jewel...a new, unopened, unused Heinz mayonnaise packet. Perhaps from ChickFilA (one of my favorites.

Well, I didn't get my priority box  but the extended family (18 of us here) do a present exchange and while they may not understand my sickness, they are at least supportive.

Image

I'm willing to bet the seatbelt covers will be in SOMEONE'S priority box next year, but the valve stem covers are going on Vlad.

Merry Christmas everyone!! Melekelikimaka.

you're welcome, glad you like it! I used that computer in the shop a lot to have the forum or a how-to site up to have the pics handy while I was working- it's a great little machine! It actually has both windows xp and ubuntu on it- you can probably just use windows if you like, but if you're the adventurous sort, it's a good linux learning machine.

The gas mask is awesome! I found it on craigslist while looking for a white elephant gift and ended up buying four of them because I wanted a couple and I figured it would be a good box item. Supposedly it meets all the requirements to actually work in a poison gas attack, but I hope we never get to test them :)

The chalkline chalk was just in there because it felt like a shame to use paper to pad the other stuff when the post office lets you make it as heavy as you want :) Hopefully you can find a good use for it, I know I use it a lot on the farm for marking out projects on the ground.

Merry christmas to you and yours!
