Updated forum software
Updated forum software
After 8 years it was time to upgrade the phpBB version. I think all the bits converted properly?
Expect things to evolve from the current state as I tweak the software. Search isn't 100% working yet (is a bit slow and is case sensitive), there are some DB optimizations to do and I wanted to get the forum live again).

Re: Updated forum software
Looks different but seems to work the same.
Re: Updated forum software
Excellent work. Thanks for your efforts. It will take a little getting used to but I'm sure there's more to it than a shiny new look.

Thanks Justin and thanks to all the beamters. You guys are selfless in terms of your willingness to make this site a cool place to hang out and learn interesting stuff.
Re: Updated forum software
It definitely is different, but I'll get over it. Thank you guys for all the work you do!
Re: Updated forum software
Is there still an option to see posts since last visit?
Clicking on "Board Index" give me this single line and nothing else,
//-- mod : latest topic title -------------------------------------------------- //-- add include $phpbb_root_path . 'includes/class_ltt.' . $phpEx; //-- fin mod : latest topic title ----------------------------------------------

Definitely a different look. Thanks to all involved in the update and who keep this site up and running.

Yes, "View new posts" from the board index. In the white space below the date and time at the top.demetk wrote:Is there still an option to see posts since last visit?
Re: Updated forum software
Where did the option go for board style? I changed it to something more reminiscent of the old format and it reverted to this special edition new thingy and I can't change it back.

I don't have much to live for and now my world is all upside down and backwards.

LOL. It is a pretty dramatic change. But we like you Chris. That should account for something.wkohler wrote:I don't have much to live for and now my world is all upside down and backwards.

Re: Updated forum software
Yay! Forum now scales to screen size
Would like the avatars/posters on the left side of the screen.

I think it should be pink. Besides that I love it.
Re: Updated forum software
Where's the wiki option?

Re: Updated forum software
Do a refresh while holding down the shift key, at least that is what usually works on PCs.
