I'm still toying with the idea of doing that... seeing the finished one here towards the end makes it seem worthwhile.

I wonder if there was any modification done to get E34 side skirts to fit or if the length was a match. Other than that, relocating the exhaust cutout to the middle doesn't seem too difficult.

Front turn signals... lots of options there. I'm a bit surprised no one has noticed the E34 bumper's lack of them.

That looks the tits! Very nice, I would do that to an e28.
I Know right? Really want to do it to mine.

I wouldn't put the back bumper on (Looks like a whale), but the front and skirts are looking mighty promising . For the turn signals, the US bumpers have those small ones on the side. In my country we dont have have those. Im thinking behind the grill? or retrofit in the black beading

Because they became one with the head lights :) No need for them unless mounted to an e28, of course.

Edit: You could always wire up some low lamps with the city light option in there and hook those up as blinkers/running lights. That would be pretty sweet....

Found some more e34 Bumpers on e28's on this Russian site.

This is probably the best implementation yet. Even though this e28 is basically a 4x4

I think this is great. Plus the availability of these bumpers is plentiful compared to sourcing Euro bumpers. I hope to find a shot looking strait down on hood and bumper from above. I'm curious to see how the bumper looks with the shark nose hood. The e34 bumpers look less pointed and more rounded. Other than those concerns I think I'm going to source a pair of these e34 bumpers and give it a try.

Does anyone know what different parts are needed for that euro plate holder? Is it a matter of changing out the black plastic peace?

I know I'm bumping an old thread, but I was wondering what the best way to go about attaching e34 bumpers onto my e28. I just found a pair of e34 bumpers at the junk yard and couldnt pass it up after seeing the pics of the ones on here.

I havent attempted to put them on yet, but I was wondering if anyone had any pointers for how they affixed theirs? Keep the shocks in? Take shocks out? What to leave on, what to take out?

Germz: I'm very interested about this too. So hopefully an additional bump will help.

I'm particularly interested in the corners of the bumper. According to the pics the e34 bumpers flair out a little at the corners. Because the e34 fenders look like they flair out more than the e28 ones. In some of the pics it looks like the corners are trimmed or bent in.

I was noticing the same thing.

Well either way, I'm going to attempt this within the next couple weeks since I already have the bumpers. I will document and post it here for anyone else looking to do it. That is, if I can do it successfully! :D

Germz: Pictures would be excellent! Could you take pics of the mounting brackets, fitment, and such? It would be greatly appreciated by everyone considering this conversion!

Also if you are having issues post some pics I'm sure some of us can come up with some creative solutions. Best of luck to you!

dainfamous001020: Thanks for posting those pics. I really like the front end. The rear end doesn't look bad either. How was mounting the bumpers? How much fabrication did you have to do?

Getting there. Euro trim, oem fogs and chrome kidneys would bring it on home.

Can always go sport bumpers later :D

these look great! im in the process of mounting my front bumper. i would like to know how you got the front to sit so high, and flush. did you cut part out of the top of the bumper? where mine gets to the fender well, it is about 3/4in lower than yours. im kind of going by trial and error here. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I like it. Curious to see it with sport bumpers but at $750 for thrashed ones, not something to just try on a whim.
