This might be a good sticky, or not, but I've noticed as the M5 prices are on the rise, 533/535 prices are as well. Cars that only a year or two ago sold for 2500-4000 seem to be moving into the 4-8k range in many places (asking price at least).
Thought it would be interesting to see what prices items are being sold and bought for over the next year.
1983 533i 278k, books and records. lots of spare parts and upgrades. $4500 for the car with cloth interior, new dash, T-stars and other upgrades. Also purchased some additional parts for $$ with the car.
Thoughts?

Re: E28 prices (non M5)
My latest acquisition;
'88 528e 5 speed, $650.00.
All original panels and paint.
Paint was tired, still haven't been able to correct the hood.
Rust on A pillars and below windscreen, right lower.
Rust hole on right rear wheel arch.
Surprisingly everywhere else is clean.
Interior worn and dry, w/ typical driver's seat tears.
All electricals work, now.
136K w/ broken odometer, fairly accurate based on CarFax, works now though.
Came w/ a few papers. TB good.
Needed new fuel pump and rubber under the hood, water pump, O2 sensor, and CTS.
Had to get towed home.
Bottlecaps w/ decent tires.
After 6 weeks of ownership... http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?p=1259793#p1259793 w

Re: E28 prices (non M5)
I just picked up a:
'83 533i - 5 Spd - White on 'one of the red' interior.
188K - Salvage Title
Needs entire suspension replaced (all bushings, front struts)
No service history
Right rear quarter corroded as well as typical spot under rear glass (doors, trunk/spare tire well, etc are all good)
Runs strong with no issues besides typical maintenance and refreshes needed

Finger fumble on my part. Should be moved to either cars for sale or general conversation

Re: E28 prices (non M5)
Interesting subject.
I bought my E28 M535i a bit over two years ago for $5,500. It was and still is well looked after. Unfortunately a few spots of rust have shown up mainly under 3 of the doors and under the hood grill rhs. Seats are tired, which ones aren't at this age? I replaced the air con compressor (2nd hand) to only have it fail after one week big bummer, Recently the drivers door lock went south and for the moment I have to lock/unlock from the trunk or passenger's side.
Apart from the above nothing really wrong with it, motor and running gear in very good condition as is the suspension. Interior is presenting very tidy. Currently at 272,000 klms.
These are now selling in similar condition (over here in Australia) for around $7k and up.
Was even considering a straight swap for an E38 535 V8 plus $500 to the other guy. On the fence as I very much enjoy owning, working on and driving this car.
Who else has experienced ppl pulling up behind you in traffic and start taking pics with their cell phones??
Recently clay barred and polished it, very happy with the result, paint feels new again.
I haven't really whored it out here yet so here goes.
Some eye candy
