This will surely get some feathers ruffled....My humble opinion is that all (I mean every stinkin one of these hideously over extended fugly stupidly designed US/NA Bumpers) on all E28s and all E24s look like Total Hideous ASS ( get my drift - not a good thing either). I don't care what model! As well as all IS's and All M5's w/o rear spoilers look like Complete Utter ASS as well. Sorry to offend I am a Completely Opinionated Total ASSHOLE anyway so my view does not mean squat except to me....The rest of your car looks awesome and that motor I bet purrs quite nicely....enjoy your Day E28ers !

I agree Euro bumpers look great on these cars.... But they aren't the be-all and end all like so many claim. If you want a commuting/DD E28, the US bumpers are perfect.

But I don't think the US cars with spoiler kits are bad in any way. Personally, my two favorites for the US spec E28 are the stock E28 M5 and a nice Zinno red 535iS(CEK, yours being a great example as is).

I have this poster at home, and love how the car looks...

Repaint that front spoiler already, I can't sleep knowing it doesn't match.

Seriously though, that is one of the cleanest mostly original e28's I have seen and halfway makes me want to drive mine off a cliff

Why would I paint the front spoiler when I know you are going to take my euro bumper conversion on as your next project? That would be pouring good after bad.

Some pr0n from this weekend's BMW Pacific Northwest Region's Heritage show in Renton, WA. I decided to try my hand in putting Vlad in the judged concours. I didn't win anything, but got some good input from the judges on what I'd need to do better. I'm not really sure I want to.

I seriously doubt Vlad will ever be cleaner than this again:

I didn't realize the spare tire & jack needed to be removed. Or the floor mats. I had never detailed the spare tire well, but had time to do so at the show.

Got lots of comments, as expected, on the engine.

Nice day for it. I'll post more pics of other cars in the thread I created for the event here: http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=127621

Looks great.

I am not a fan of shadowline at all. However, on the red, I think I'm torn as to which I prefer :? . Just don't get carried away and do the bumpers. ;)

Are you going to use the M5 spoiler under your front euro bumper?

I'm going to use a euro M5 spoiler and a 'taxi' front valance.

I thought the taxi one WAS the one with holes in it? That's what I meant.

I made that mistake and got the one with no holes. I regretted that when I was carefully cutting the vents in the valance for the M5 spoiler.

This looks like a good price:

Thanks Joel. The sun in Portland must have caused me to mis-hear you and get it backwards.

I want my front end to look just like your car, but with fogs (and painted, not chrome). Oh and Zinno. :-)

I think Geordi's is like that. It's a really nice OEM look.

Unfortunately, it's the look everyone wants so I'm going to have to go a different direction with my 528i. I like the brightwork better anyway.

I'd be pretty interested in where the judges felt you could improve, Charlie.

Generally I was just not anal enough. I actually missed some grime in my engine bay down by the ABS system for example. Also in the gaps in the panels where the front fenders meet the cowl. My last-minute spare tire well detail was weak too.

They said my car scored well. I didn't actually stick around to see my score sheets though or to see how far back from 3rd place I came.
