Did you buy the euro bumpers new? Painting them body color I assume?
Re: My Budget Daily Driver Build Updated 7/23

You do great work. The front airdam reminds me a little of a cow catcher on an early locomotive - sorry - random thought. I always thought they looked cool.

You and that sanding block must be on near intimate terms by now Brent!
I have to admit you two do fine work together though.

Sounds decent for an old tractor, you have to pay extra to make the brakes sound like a bus.lloydse28 wrote:Here's a video from tonight. Sounds great. E28 535i with headers and exhaust: http://youtu.be/E3QHrWDXtLs

I was actually taking a video of a 350z going by. Lol
Re: My Over Budget Daily Driver Build Updated 8/29
That exhaust sounds great imo. Would like to hear it idle stationary with a little throttle play.

That one stiff bottom lip.
Sounds wicked though! How is the drone at cruising speeds? I dig it!!
EDIT: PS: What size piping is that coming off your headers on the front section of the exhaust? That exhaust sounds awesome.

i miss that car.
Re: My Over Budget Daily Driver Build Updated 8/29
It doesn't have any drone, actually quiet at cruising speed. 2" tubing at the downpipes. I was hoping it would shoot a flame out the exhaust in the video.unt0uchable wrote:That one stiff bottom lip.

it's really coming together. i think it looks great!
Re: My 85 535i Daily Driver Build Updated 9/4
Thanks, I'm liking it too... The only thing I don't like is having to be mindful of how low the front lip is.
Re: My 85 535i Daily Driver Build Updated 9/4
Can't wait to see the black bumpers, wonder how it will look. Are you planning on running fog lights or the black block off plates?

I will probably make some metal filler panels or something that takes a bunch of time.
Re: My 85 535i Daily Driver Build Updated 9/4
You know there are factory plastic covering panels that are less then $20 a set. P/N's 51711873623 and 51711873624. They look good.bkbimmer wrote:Flame throwersealinn wrote:Can't wait to see the black bumpers, wonder how it will look. Are you planning on running fog lights or the black block off plates?

Having a life does sound intriguing though.
Also, the idea of a budget died as soon as I decided to euro convert it... It might have to be a keeper at least for a bit longer
Re: My 85 535i Daily Driver Build Updated 9/4
Today I spent a few hours adjusting my valves and cleaning up the engine bay a bit, I also put my freshly painted front bumper together and mounted it... I will need to pull the front end off again to weld the US front bumper rubber trim holes but I am going to hold off for a while on that.
