New addition to the fleet
Re: New addition to the fleet
And his prices haven't gone up any since 2012 either.
Re: New addition to the fleet
Sounds like he gave you the nice face discount.

I'll drop a couple in an envelope. I bought a shitload when they first came out.
Re: New addition to the fleet
Awesome, thanks! Send me your addy too and I'll send a small but cool NLA item.
Re: New addition to the fleet
Humbly asking you throw one in for me as well.Karl Grau wrote:Awesome, thanks! Send me your addy too and I'll send a small but cool NLA item.

I'll have to see how many I have left. May see if a friend can re-create them for me....

Re: New addition to the fleet
Trying to remember if I come here for the car content or the intelligence and wit?

Put the Style 42s back on.
Modified the stock microphone grill to accept the GROM unit.
And mounted the fire extinguisher (Thanks Ivo!)

Re: New addition to the fleet
The style 42's look great on the car!
Re: New addition to the fleet
I have to say, Chas' efforts on those '42's paid off; they're pretty stunning in person.
Charles picked up a pretty nice example in the end. This was one of the other color combinations I was originally looking for when I was searching for mine.

Agreed, it's a damn nice cruiser.
Re: New addition to the fleet
The first aid kit bracket was sent by tramp steamer from Germany to the East coast where it was transferred to pack mule and it arrived yesterday. At first I thought there was a prospector on my street, but no, it was my bracket being delivered.
Changed the power steering fluid and power steering filter. The filter is a clever design, it’s integral to the reservoir so you replace the whole thing. The e28 design is a dinosaur. Why replace a $4.00 filter when you can replace a $50.00 filter/reservoir combo?
The seat side trim pieces were beat to hell so I replaced them too.

Looking good Charles!
Question, does the first aid kit require a power source? Look like you have it plugged in to the cigarette lighter.

Yes, there's a portable defibrillator in the kit and that cord keeps it charged.OcCoupe wrote:Question, does the first aid kit require a power source? Look like you have it plugged in to the cigarette lighter.

I did the clay bar thing over the weekend and just started on polishing and waxing.
The trunk lid with a shot of sky and the backside of the garage door.

Your other cars are gonna get jealous of the new girl.

Got some new mats. The ones that came with the car weren’t horrible but they’re the ones that left the factory with the car 15 years ago.
The 1.2 Bar radiator cap came today along with the DISA valve upgrade.
Also, a 12v recessed cigarette lighter charging port for the trunk and a USB charger for the cockpit. I don’t know exactly where either is going yet.
Re: New addition to the fleet
Car covers in the back yard? Say it ain't so!
I did the DISA valve upgrade and 1.2 BAR cap on the e46 also. There really wasn't anything broken, but that DISA valve kit helps give some peace of mind.
Who did you buy mats from?

Re: New addition to the fleet
I thought the e30 had the dustiest brake pads in the free world but I was wrong, it’s the e39. I got these Abracadabra brand pads that are supposed to be low dust and still have decent stopping power.
Also put on the new door and bumper molding.

Re: New addition to the fleet
I have those on both my E28s and they work great. No dust.Karl Grau wrote:I thought the e30 had the dustiest brake pads in the free world but I was wrong, it’s the e39. I got these Abracadabra brand pads that are supposed to be low dust and still have decent stopping power.

Keep up the fine work!
I'm ready to buy when you're ready to sell.

The E39 looks nice. I like dusty pads because I love stopping.

Re: New addition to the fleet
I can't believe you'd park the nice cars outside and give the garage to some POS E39.
