the wheels always look better with the logo facing up.

I love both of your threads. Very informative. I should have never sold my e30.....
Sigh.
E28 I think, is next for me.

Laugh all you want...my understanding is these wheels have not been refinished. I could be wrong, but when I got them they had 10+ year old tires on them.bkbimmer wrote: Did someone with epilepsy mask off the black portion of these wheels?
Re: "Vlad": The Zinno '87 535is (I love this car)
what if you actually decreased their value by fixing that "flaw".
Re: "Vlad": The Zinno '87 535is (I love this car)
Is that a "statement" or a question? Am I supposed to imagine you throwing "air quotes" when I read what you wrote in this quote? And what and who are "you" referring to?leadphut wrote:what if you actually decreased their value by fixing that "flaw".
Re: "Vlad": The Zinno '87 535is (I love this car)
Looks much better now, how is the euro conversion going?
Re: "Vlad": The Zinno '87 535is (I love this car)
i guess it's a rhetorical statement to the anal retentative "so-n-so," regarding some slim chance, that they were hand painted by some dude with epilepsy, that happened to be working at alpina that month. if that's the case, by fixing that "flaw," you might have decreased their value. i doubt it, but you never know. ya know? it was a rediculous thought and wanted to pass it along to someone with a keen sense of humor.cek wrote:Is that a "statement" or a question? Re: Vlad: The Zinno '87 535is (Euro Bumpers!)
I'd wish I could count with a local Ken (body/paint guy) down here in South Florida - Miami
It seems your car and mine are becoming twin brothers from different mothers on opposite coasts; with the Alpina wheels, Euro bumpers, etc., although I'm still behind and undecided on my engine upgrade.
Albeit you already know you're doing a fantastic job with Vlad, I still wanted to congratulate you!
Why are the bumpers primed and not chromed, is it your choice? Or you had no choice?

And you can't get all the chrome pieces anymore. Took a while to put it all together didn't it Charlie? Glad to see it all was found and I know it will look awesome when completed.cek wrote:I want painted.

I'm excited to see it Charlie! I love the shadowline look, but you know I'm biased.

Some of you guys really crack me up with all that you "know". I give up trying to help and be realistic, I mean I only work at a dealership and have daily access to parts availability. If you think that's all that is NLA, I wish everyone luck who tries to order a package deal...and that's before you need to provide a euro VIN.harrypalmer wrote:You are right, except for the front left side bumper everything else is still available Hope this helps others interested!BimmerSultan wrote:And you can't get all the chrome pieces anymore.cek wrote:I want painted.

My comment was to encourage others so why the sarcasm and negativity? Due to the ban on Euro parts (including bumpers) I recently ordered and got everything new directly from Germany except for the brackets, those were used in the Netherlands. I'm glad you have access to parts most of us could not purchase, so from experience you could say I do know what's out there. Cheers!BimmerSultan wrote:Some of you guys really crack me up with all that you "know". Sorry if it came off as sarcasm. I'm glad it worked out for you though. It is a tough to thing to get all of the needed parts. I'll leave it at that. Now back to Charlie's awesome car!harrypalmer wrote:My comment was to encourage others so why the sarcasm and negativity? I was expecting it to be finished, I'm going to go drink more now. Could this day BE any worse?!
Re: Vlad: The Zinno '87 535is (Euro Bumpers!)
Every time I look at your car it makes me want to take mine to the crusher and video tape its fitting demise.
