If anybody is interested in a shipment to Albany NY please let me know. Depending on interest and how much time I can make it may be able to do a drop off. You would have to come pick it up yourself but I can arrange with Ivo a shipping crate.

Any update on this? I would gladly drive to pick one up from your place Dan. I could also take a few windshields a little farther east (Omaha environs) to get them closer to the Chicago guys.

What about Denver? Any chance to get a windshield to Colorado or even Utah?

I need to have at least 5 orders in Denver to make shipping affordable
If one of you wants to get into that, I will consider it!

Ok if that's the case Ivo... I will take two (2) Green on Green. Shipped to Denver. Would that help? Keep the orders coming to complete 5 please.

Ivo and others,

If you guys from Colorado, Nebraska, Utah and elsewhere place your orders, I am offering to store the windshields safely for pick up at my place in Denver if that helps.

From what I am reading, there are four members so far who are willing to place orders for the so-called Colorado group (please forgive me if I fail to mention you or the color of your desired windshield):

Quantity:

My preference would be green/green. If this happens.

For the two or three middle Midwesterners that posted early interest, I have a depository for rare BMW parts in West Omaha. I could store your windshields there until you make some arrangements for a "Parts Express" or some other collection/transport to your location.

Midwest guy here in Indianapolis IN. What do you think shipping would be from your West Omaha location?

Hi BimmerDan,

Initially you’ve mentioned a friend of yours with a truck could/can take some windshields to Kearny, NE. Have you received any answer from your friend yet? Is he a reliable source? And how many windshields could he really take? Will he charge money for his service?

Later on, you also kindly offered: “I'll take one and I could pickup in Denver and take them to Omaha if that helps?”

missmye21 requested an update on your first comment and he even has offered to take some further East closer to Chicago as a viable solution to help others.

70deluxe asked for a chance to get a windshield to Colorado or even Utah…

So upon reading Ivo’s response to all of the above: “I need to have at least 5 orders in Denver to make shipping affordable
If one of you wants to get into that, I will consider it!”. I said to myself, -"Man, even though I only need one windshield it will prove less expensive (for me) if I purchase two and help make the cut of five orders to Denver so that Ivo can agree on this option".

So my question to you (BimmerDan) is, how many windshields can you really take with you (either via Sacramento of from Denver) to help move this order and maybe missmye21 can take some more further East?

As I see it, there are two possibilities so far:
1. A shipping pickup destination hub courtesy of you BimmerDan that needs confirmation from your friend in Sacramento, correct? How many can he take in in his truck?
2. There is a second shipping/pickup hub here in Denver. How many exactly can you take if you drive from Denver? Maybe a split cost rental truck could be an alternative for many folks East of you, Chicago, Indiana, etc.

By the way, picking up one from you in Kearny is a viable solution (and actually cheaper for me) so in NO way I’m pushing “a Denver Agenda”.

It is clear the generosity and camaraderie of this group, however, if I may, I’d like to ask all interested to commit and decide sooner than later where it is realistically convenient to have them delivered (via your courtesy) so that Ivo can say, OK, I’ll send x amount to Sacramento from the Seattle shipment, or directly to Denver. I am just trying to concrete something for Ivo to consider closing the deal so we all can put our money where our mouth is. That's all. Whatever you, BimmerDan, missmye21 and 70deluxe choose to commit please kindly let me know soon. Thanks!

Lastly, what makes you say: -“So we are one short?”

Cheers!

So my friend will not be driving back until next winter, so we would be waiting close to a year.

I thought we were short one windshield, I missed you are getting two.

I have no problem going to Denver to help transport, the family keeps asking me to go for a weekend.

I would like to figure it out, that way I can make a schedule.

Mmmkay, I do thinks this can happen.

Scenario #1: 5 windshields accepted in Denver by HarryPalmer. One is for 70deluxe and Harry takes 2 and stores 2 for Dan to pick up later. Dan takes 2 to Kearny (one for him and one for me).

Scenario #2 is shipped to Dan in Kearny. It is appealing because he is geographically in the middle. However, I suspect that it is more costly to ship to him in Kearny than a bigger place like Denver but I am not any expert.

Scenario #3: if the so called Chicago guys had transport from my Omaha location I would offer to receive the shipment. I would get 1 and Dan would take 3 to Kearny (Harry really only wants one, one for Dan, one for 70deluxe) and 5th, 6th, and 7th could wait in Omaha for pick up (mtrspt5, fukoa and josephpilav). There might be a #8 windshield in this scenario if IndyMfive wanted to drive to Chicago environs to collect it.

@ IndyMfive, to reply to your question about shipping a windshield from my west Omaha storage to you, they are much too fragile for that! You can transport one or two across the back seat with some wide clear "shipping tape" attaching the top of the windshield to the top of your rear seat. Easy peasy.

y.
If this scenario works, I do have a forklift and space to store it. Depending on the logistics, Brown Transfer hubs out of Kearney so pallet delivery is reasonable. I had an engine shipped for 145 dollars last year.

Great. Thank you kindly for your answers. I will paste on missmye21's response next to condense info and get this thing going, hopefully.

Awesome and thank you!

So taking from your Scenarios #1 and #2 there are five possible almost committed orders to Denver or Omaha? (I say Omaha because maybe Kearney will be more expensive for Ivo? No idea):

For now then:
Dan in Kearney, NE. 1 Green on Green
missmye21 in Linlcoln, NE. 1 Green on Green
70deluxe (somewhere in CO or UT?). 1 (What color?)
harrypalmer in Denver, CO. 2 Green on Green

After this posting, I will email and PM 70deluxe (since I haven't seen any response) to make sure he's on board and ask color. Once we get an affirmative answer I assume any of us could formally request either a Denver or Omaha shipment. Correct? And proceed to make payment in half to Ivo. If that sounds OK.

Scenario#3: With four windshields ordered in place the other four for a total of eight (8) would need to confirmed by these folks:
IndyMfive in Indianapolis, IN. 1 (What color?)
mtrspt5 in Naperville, IL. 1 (What color?)
fukoa in Chicago, IL. 1 Green (plain)
josephpilav in (could not find his info in this forum) 1 (What color?)

BTW, can you please double check josephpilav user's name please to determine interest?
Again, I will email and PM these guys and ask them if they are interested.
Don't know the logistics and price for them to pay and picking their windshields from Omaha. Just trying to speed up things here.

Once we get an answer from these gents above we will know how to proceed don't you think?
Thanks again!

Emails/PM sent to:
70deluxe (somewhere in CO or UT?).
Indy Mfive in Indianapolis, IN.
mtrspt5 in Naperville, IL.
fukoa in Chicago, IL.
Awaiting interest and color confirmation. Except for josephpilav as I don't have his info.
