It was a sunny 60 degree day in Wisconsin today, so the E28 came out of its winter slumber for a lock strip replacement. What a difference!

I also decided to dig out the rare coarse spline M-Tech wheel the car came with and sent it off to Chris Scow for recovering.

Looking good! That dash looks sharp. Do you have a p/n for the undertray? I've seen a few, but never sure which one is right for my 533i with late euro valance.

Thanks

P/n 51471929114, was a hundred bucks from the dealer. Fit like a glove on my car though I had to trim it slightly to clear the M30B35 oil pan.

You might want to consider changing the subject to "My formerly scruffy 1985 Euro 535i".

Just sayin'.

Really though, it still is. The shell probably has over 350k on it, it has dings and dents, previous owner crunched the rocker jack points, rust bubbles in a few non-critical places, etc. It is a great driver though!

If anyone finds this car particularly compelling I will likely be selling it this year, so feel free to reach out if you would like to start a discussion on that. Otherwise I may drag it across the country and move the parts into a cleaner shell or a 6er at some point.

Beautiful day, so I brought it out and took a few quick snaps.

Got the recovered wheel back from Chris Scow and got it installed. Looking fantastic!

Going to take the car out this weekend for some detailed photos and load up a Google Drive album with pics.
