Updated photos, embedding photos to here with an iphone is cumbersome. Finally started tuning the car, the holley system is a lot more user friendly than the MS3. But that comes at the cost of less overall options.

Does anyone have a cheap source to get the bmw door bump strip moulding clips? $3 a piece seems pricey

Nice updates, I am sure the new paint is making you excited to use the car more. This makes me want to paint my car sooner than later!

The paint does give me renewed motivation! If I were to paint again I think I would've done all prep and detrim and just paid Maaco for this level car. I know a few pro painters but it would have cost $800 to get a booth and they weren’t stoked about single stage. When I painted it I had more time than money so I attempted myself. The result was 2 days of buffing to get the orange peel under control.

Started tuning the car but even doing it at midnight when Phoenix is only 90 degrees the car is unbearable after 30 minutes to the shear amount of heat coming off the motor. I need to put some insulation in.

On the plus side the car drove further in a half hour than it has been pushed around in the last 5 years.

A rock would do it. Air filter on hiatus?

Yup although I ran the compressor totally fine with the last setup by blending the corresponding impeller to match. What did it in was the turbine blade fell apart and destroyed the bearings etc. That may of also been a rock.

No filter yet but I did epoxy some aluminum honey comb into the housing intake. It won’t let anything smaller than an 1/8 in I think? that is a sort of temporary solution until I decide to spend the time on a proper filter. I swear I had a silicone elbow but can’t find it.

Well I went to finally move the car from my brothers to my place under its own power and it caught on fire.

I caught it quick, pulled into a lot and had water ready douse it. Turns out my steering box is pissing fluid right onto the headers. Now I must remove the headers and get to the box to see what’s really leaking

years ago on my 5.0 swapped car, my PS line leaked and soaked the heat shielding I had around the hose. after getting back from a short trip back from the gas station I popped the hood for some smoke, sleeve was on fire. I ran to get an extinguisher and while putting it out the fire jumped the starter solenoid wires and it tried to start and run me over. fortunately it hit a pile of tires and remained attempting to start until I scrambled to unhook the battery.

v8 and power steering fires. yay

Lol, I almost spit my drink out reading your experience. I guess things can always get worse.

I wish there was a simple replacement for ditching the box but the few people I have seen do rack conversions have made it seem pretty involved.
