Newbie questions

Post by Mr.Lee »

Hello group. A few beginner questions:

Are there any major body changes between the 81 and the 88 models? Meaning; can you change the look of your 81 model to an 88 model (and vice versa) without any welding involved.

How about grill/tail lights/body trims, are they interchangeable between all years?

If you aim for the M5 look, how difficult it is to source parts for this. Used/re-produced/NOS

All body panels interchange.

What ///M5 parts were you interested in? The US got a loaded black car with mostly the natur interior and some black interiors. Leather, full power accessories, painted mirrors and shadowline trim on the bumpers, door trim top and middle window surrounds, drip rail and taillights.

The €///M5 was bespoke and could be ordered as desired. So its accoutrement will vary by car.

Most of the Shadowline trim, just use satin black paint to change from chrome look to satin black cause the parts are mostly NLA.

All the other stuff, just ask and we'll let you know. We don't know exactly what you think of as a properly turned out M5.
