Need to refresh the exhaust on an ‘88 535i
I was doing some searching online and was thinking of buying the magma flow cat + Ireland engineering exhaust.

Is this a viable option?
Want something that saves some weight, and sounds good. Don’t need anything that’s obnoxiously loud.
Have scoured the forum, and seems like billyboat might be too loud for me.
There’s also a walker exhaust but again there aren’t any vids to actually hear the various exhaust sounds.
Advice would be greatly appreciated.
Exhaust options : cat + cat back & exhaust

If budget isn’t a big issue, Supersprint is what you want.

I have one on both my BMWs. Pricey but top quality, excellent fitment, and not obnoxiously loud. Nice and throaty when you want it to be.

I wanted to stay around $1k.
Re: Exhaust options : cat + cat back & exhaust
I have the IE catback system. It's 1-3/4" tubing and is a royal pain to install properly due to the hanger bracket being on one side. It does sound deeper than the stock system with no drone. I'm currently running it without a cat straight from the Stahl long tube headers.
Re: Exhaust options : cat + cat back & exhaust
I am wondering what you decided and how it worked out. Any updates?
