Welp...here we go. Long story short, I found this beaut for sale in Michigan at a good price and from the original owner in running but not driving condition due to failed clutch hydraulics. I decided to jump on the opportunity and had the car shipped to Denver. The owner gave me the original wheels and a folder of invoices; everything done to the car since '97! Bought a clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder before the car even shipped, installed them first thing, and got it driving! I've taken it on a few joy rides around the neighborhood, but I want to get a few things done to it before I really take it out.
My plan for the car is to get it to OEM+ condition. Maintenance and detailing first, then some tasteful upgrades such as overhauling the shifter assembly and suspension, getting an A/C conversion kit, and slapping on a good set of tires. Maybe some euro goodies if I can find any at a decent price. Paint is fading in some areas, so maybe a respray of the same color. I don't have many pictures yet, but stay tuned for more.

Between travel, hot 90+ days, and work that needed to get done on the truck I haven't been able to dedicate much time to the e28. But I do have a bit of a fun story. I just got back from traveling in Scotland and while I was there I figured I'd try to source some euro parts. I found a gent in Chester that was selling e28 euro headlights and grills on Marketplace that agreed to ship them up to Glasgow. I picked them up on my last day, checked them on the flight back to the states, and everything survived the journey! I got a full headlight/grill set with spare housings, grills, and headlights. The housings need a good cleaning and coat of paint, but headlights look super clean. I also have parts for refreshing the shifter assembly coming, plus some maintenance I still need to do I think I'll be busy for a while.

Makes me think of my 535is before I put the euro bumpers on. Though admittedly, your paint is nicer!

Thank you! With the exception of some peeling clear coat on the back doors and a door dent the whole exterior is in great condition. It is running and driving, but I've only driven it around the area a bit. I was actually thinking of joining the Drive 4 Corners meet, but I'm not very confident in it's ability to survive the journey. It's definitely leaking something and has been largely sitting for the last four years. I’m not 100% sure, but if they are UK lights rather than euro lights, they may have the headlight beam cutoff on the wrong side. Meaning the extra light instead of lighting up signposts on the right, blinds oncoming drivers on your left. They will look the part but this could be an issue

I actually thought about that. Looking at other euro headlights, the cutoff on mine is on the opposite side, so I'll have to install them and see how bad it is. I wonder if I could separate the glass from the headlight, spin it 180°, and reseal it. Are those UK headlights?
