Seeking a connection at Viasat or Starlink

Post by DavidE9 »

Hi
I hope this message isn’t too off-topic, but I’m reaching out to see if anyone here might have connections at Viasat or Starlink, or advice about their hiring process. I’ve been following their work and greatly admire their mission to provide internet connectivity to underserved populations.

My background is in telecommunications, and I’ve seen firsthand how transformative connectivity can be for families and communities. I’m passionate about contributing to initiatives that close the digital divide, and I would be grateful for any insight, contacts, or suggestions you might have on reaching the right folks at either of these companies.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Best regards,
David

While I can't help you, I for one certainly have no issues with you posting the question here. When the board was busier we used to get all sorts of odd OT posts, and it was a better more interesting board for it. Good luck with your search!

The topic is fine for here, which is "General Conversation." If it were highly political, it'd have to go in "The Tailpipe."

Viasat is in Carlsbad. You’re in Encinitas. Go for a drive, stop in and say, “what up?”
What’s the worst that could happen? The roads to get there are fun.

I've tried that actually, but I appreciate the suggestion.

We use the Viasat Enhanced Bandwidth Efficient Modem (EBEM) in my world of MilSATCOM but I don’t have any specific contacts.
The Navy is playing around with Starlink but that is on the commercial side so I have less connection.

Try being creative like this sailor and see what happens.
