Hi all, over the last 2-3 years I successfully swapped a M62 VANOS motor into my e24 chassis. It barely fit but it really moves now. The headers were probably one of the more difficult things to work around the steering box and clearances in general.
I thought these parts might be of interest to others, so I do have the following available if anyone wants to do the same:
- Motor mounts, $275
- Subframe spacer and alignment bushings (for clearance in tunnel), $225
- Transmission mount (built for the Getrag 6 speed but should work fine for the 5 speed), $175
- A fairly involved brake booster relocation system (a copy of the other BMW system, but built for our cars), $850
If there is enough interest in the headers, I think I can get the manufactured, but they're not yet ready for sale.
