Satisfied Incorporated, any experiences?

Post by CanadianMiniFan »

Hey all,

I’ve recently been researching options for rear trailing arm adjustment. All of the usual suspects seems to have issues. Power flex and Kmac eccentric bushings having limited adjustment, IE requiring weakening of the trailing arm brackets (can be reinforced) and CEK seemed to have to do some dogbone bolt modification to clear the welded adjuster. I ran across a company called “Satisfied Incorporated” selling e28/24 slotted brackets relatively affordably, does anybody have any experience with them as a company, and with the parts? They seem to remove the entire original bracket, with some limited reinforcement. Any other options or ideas are welcome! Here’s a link to their site.

I haven't heard of them before. A search on 'satisfiedincorporated' turns up a bunch of hits on all different kinds of BMW related things, with a lot of coil over and air suspension bits as well as many other parts. They have a YouTube channel as well (but with only 289 subscribers) along with the other usual social media presence.

They are a reputable company from what I've seen/heard. No first hand experience with them though.

I only know them from facebook. Dude is obviously a real vintage BMW fan. Seems to produce some pretty beautiful custom stuff. He's here in washington.

I just ordered fuel injector connectors and will report back. $2.50 per connector which seems like a very good price.

I ordered their trailing arm bracket kit, had a shipping question and got an immediate response from a real person, so my hopes are high.

Here is a pic of a fuel injector connector. $2.50 which is cheap as the quality is darn good:

It depends on what you are after. It seems he reliably sells his cheap bits and bobs so cannot speak to that. I did however order a set of 5 TRX-to-17" conversion wheels. I want to say from the outset, that I agreed with Erik that quality was the highest priority and for this I ended up paying over $5000. When spending this kind on money, I will also say my expectations were higher than for buying a set of reps for a grand.

In summary, my overall experience with Erik ended in a big negative result. From what started with a lot of promises and good engagement and eagerness to do the wheels, ended up with him refusing to address the concerns I raised. When he first offered these conversions, he offered a set of 4 for $3000 intro rate which included a core charge of $500 for the wheels. For this price, it turned out that he would be just spray painting the faces with a spray can and not addressing the raised bung of the valve for the TRX wheel. I spoke with Erik about addressing this at an up charge, also to get the faces decent powder coated and commissioned a fifth wheel as a spare. He promised highest quality and asked for a 2 grand deposit. The upcharge for powder was to be $100/face, with one wheel needing a small repair and then the bung removals being another $100/wheel. This engagement took place in mid May of 2023.

I already had two TRX wheels and there were more on Ebay so I sent Erik mine and then purchased another pair and a single to use as a spare. At the time I had no idea that there were three different manufacturers of these wheels as I only had a matching pair in my possession. While the wheels essentially look the same, the Alcoa manufactured wheels have a sharper line on the spokes and then the other two are quite similar. However, the face markings are different so for a matching set, it would have been great for Erik to have laid them out and let me know. This detail seemed unimportant to him and was the start of the concerns. As far as delivery, I received the wheels in January 2024... over half a year since the original commissioning. To keep it brief, three wheels arrived loose in single wall boxes and I have not had a chance to assess whether they are still true. There were scratches around a few bolts from assembly where he missed the hole so scratched the lip, the bolts used were 8mm longer than ideal so stick out stupidly inside (why not get the right length?), the barrel finish is very poor with machining lines ready to absorb road grime and are very soft. I would think that he should have advised he would assemble all this raw because when I see wheels done by other bespoke wheel guys, the barrels are painted either black or silver to protect them.

While the barrel painting is expectation misalignment, the scratches and poor hardware choice were annoying at this price-point, which had gone to over 5k all in. The original powder-coating upcharge went from 500 for 5 wheels to 875 and he charged 150 to correct an issue on a wheel when for 50 I could have just arranged a replacement. The rub came when I outlined the issues of the scratches and hardware as well as not noticing the different brands that Erik started to go off at me and in the end wanted nothing to put this right. When it comes to the mismatched look, when I laid them out it was immediately noticeable so again, at this price, better attention to detail would be expected. In the end, Erik has no intention stand by his work or correct the issues and basically told me where to go. I have all the messages and images of the wheels and will likely be posting this up in the Facebook groups to provide guidance to others. I think if you are in the business of doing bespoke products, "that'll do" does not cut it. This was a shit load of money for me and I am sad to say the wheels sit in the boxes to this day because I just don't want to see them.

There are likely worse operators out there and he does deliver goods to others, but my concern with a person like Erik is that when things go off the ideal path, he lashes out and does not take responsibility for what he delivers. There were Google reviews for his business with some similar comments but I cannot locate those any more. I certainly regret that instead of just commission Paul Ehrlich for a set of BBS RS at this price that I chose to pursue this TRX look. Hindsight is 20/20 and I would not recommend working with Erik if this is how he resolves problems.

I asked a couple questions about his wheel conversions given we investigated something similar for a customers car and he blocked me, so that’s enough of a red flag for me to stay away.
