Please add more emoticons

Post by Adam W in MN »

Hey site admins/beamters. I think the emoticons could be expanded quite a bit if you are willing. I know other boards like bimmerforums have some that are a bit crude, but there are some inventive ones out there and more than enough examples to pick from (and can be added without copyright, trademark, or any infringement due to the free nature of the web).

Just a thought. I know some people on the board tend to use them too much, but when the post really needs that little added.............. umphhh............. having just the right emoticon available in the picklist is kind of nice.

I assume you've used the "View more Emoticons"? What more are you looking for? We kinda looked around at other boards and used what we thought was good, but we could add a couple more.

Yep, I've used some of the ones in the "view more" tab before. There's a Chicago board I frequent sometimes that is all eurocar owners, and many of their emoticons are off the wall, but some are pretty funny. More variety can be a good thing.

Not a demand, just a request if anyone else agrees that it benefits the board.

Yeah. Sign me up. I believe Kyle's blow job one from awhile back might be a good choice.

Here are a few fun ones from some other sites I go to.
I know you can't add them all.

From the other board I'm on, here are a few that I've linked to from their site so they will show up.

 That is FANTASTIC! I haven't seen that one before.

So it's been a while since I started this thread. Sorry to prod a bit, but is there an ETA on when these will be added to the emoticon list?

I saw that a few of these were added (beating the dead horse and some others). What about some of the ones in my post, like the "speak english", "rules!", "wtf", "off topic" , and "this thread sucks"?

You can never have too many cool emoticons......

Anything obviously obscene or offensive was an automatic veto, the rest were left up to the discretion of the people doing the adding.

Cool emoticons can't make up for a poorly thought out post or inadequately articulated idea, no matter how cool.

Agreed on them not making up for a poorly thought out post or idea. I just thought some of them were funny and/or cool.

I guess WTF is out, although we're all adults and it probably isn't that objectionable. The others I thought were decent, especially "this thread sucks" which conveys a lot of meaning sometimes.
