Official Tedfest 2008 pic thread.

Well another weekend of cars,beer,drinks, people,hangovers,great food and a shit load of laughs is over.Its hard to believe it but I think I pulled it off with the help of Eddie,Killer PM,Peter R,Mark,Sia and a whole bunch of others who pitched in to help throughout the weekend.It was tough to get an actual number of cars that were there because of them coming and going.But my guess would between 55 and 60 cars and 2 motorcycles showed up at the event.
Jeremy,Andy,Justin,Ben and his dad Bruce,Jim,JoAnn and Debbie pulled in Thursday and Eric arrived Friday. On Thursday night we had Hamburgers and beer at the casa.Friday we went out to a place called Wild Wings that had 101 flavours of chicken wings. Saturday we had the BBQ at my place with a chilli cookoff,hamburgers,Porchetta,Bifanas,potato salad and more "salads.Sunday morning we had a huge pancake breakfast with sausages,fresh cut fruit,Tim Hortons coffee and leftover chilli,
The event was held at the Benares Museum which was the perfect setting for Tedfest. The huge trees and green grass showed off all the great cars that were in attendance.The weather the whole weekend was perfect thanks to my departed father.I am not a religious person but I did pray to my father asking him for good weather. I guess he heard me. I invited Thilan from Dent Express back to do his magic on the cars. Sewel the vending cart guy was back selling food and doing card tricks.There were plenty of test drives and rides all weekend without any one getting caught.HE!HE!

I truly am sorry folks for not being able to post pics early enough but I had to keep the event rolling along smoothly and being a host.Onto the pictures.

We had some tire issues with Justin blowing a tire on the way up and my good friend Bruno providing Jeremy with two used tires because of a bad toe out.

Saturday.
I had a really tough time getting pics of all the cars that were in attendance because I was needed elsewhere.I'm sure that others will post pics of the rest.There were 6 Sharks,5 2002's one e12, 16 e28's,one Bavaria,2 E36's,7 E30's, 2 new 135's,one E34 Touring,2 e39's,one J-spec E34 M5,4 Porshe's,2 newer Mercedes's, 2 E32's,2 BMW motorcycles and a convertible Tatra of which there were only 3 made.

My friends at Tedfest kept telling you all weekend that you are the Greatest and they meant it!

In closing. It is going to be a tough act to beat next year.I now know how the 5er Fest event team feels. I hope to see some new faces here next year.If you got this far. Ted You are a great guy. You represent the best of breed when it comes to the word "friend" or even "friend to the e28 community" I know that many recognize the significant amount of work that goes into to making something like this happen. I for one am constantly amazed by you and your whole gangs enthusiam. But more impotantly , I am always impressed with the selfless giving and love that exudes when the Kannooks are in the house.
Im coming next year for sure! Thanks for the great pics and the recap of the festivities. I am sure there are some jaw muscles that hurt today just because of the constant laughs.

Wow, what an event! I had an absolute blast. The formula was just right, good friends, great cars, excellent venue, and a wide assortment of food and BEER!

Oh and did I mention the cars. A highlight, in addition seeing our friends from south of the border and learning how to pronounce the word “baseball” thanks to Jeremy was Sia’s very informative and timely front brake pad/control arm tech session.

A big thank you to Ted and his family for hosting the event. Look’in forward to seeing everyone next year!

Hey Ted, you weren't crying when you typed this thread, were you???

Believe it or not, I didn't cross the border until about 5:30. I spent a couple of hours at Niagara and ate lunch there then went back to the US via Detroit. (Along the way I stopped by a Canadian Tire in Hamilton...they don't have windshield wipers!!!) That was interesting, they pulled me aside at the border (along with a bunch of other cars) and ran the drug dog around all the cars. Then when I go through the border we're routed through what must the the poorest part of Detroit. At the first corner a panhandler (well dressed at that!) greeted everybody...what a sight it must be for first time Canadians going through there!!! And the weather got more and more humid. It is about 80 degrees and there are thunderstorms right now. Yuck!

Oh, I should mention...I NEVER MADE IT TO CHINATOWN!!!

I had a great time at Ted's. Very relaxing, did you know if you drive more than 2,500 miles to Tedfest you get a free oil change and car wash? Well not quite free, I did bring the oil. Many, many thanks to Andy for the oil filter and the labor and Ted and Craig for washing the car!

I learned a lot during my time there. Not only did I brush up on my Canadian accent, I learned about Portugese food from Peter, Manuela and Eddie (I will have to look for porchetta in So. Cal.!!!). I learned that Sia really does know how to use a jack I also should thank Mark and Ben for the test drives of the stroker M5 and Schnitzer 535i. It was very enlightening.

The event was very well run and the weather was perfect...I don't know why Ted was stressed!!! Ted's family was great, Dianna made us feel at home and the two youngest kids (young women?) Suzanne and Rebecca put up with us and didn't complain (much) Ted's lucky to have kids like that.

What wasn't mentioned was our time at the go kart facility. Peter (Killer PM), Jeremy, Justin, Rebecca and her significant other and I did 30 laps. I showed Peter and Jeremy my best driving skills (including late apex and trailing throttle oversteer) and gently nudged them out of my way (screaming and whooping as I went by). I think this should be an event at the next Tedfest!!!

What a terrific weekend. The cars were great but the new friends were even better. It was great meeting you Craig (can't wait to see your car), Eric (Tommies!), Ben (I'm having turbo thoughts), Jim (I LOVED your car), Bruce (bring two cars next time, please), Jeremy (great chili), Andy (thanks for fuse box advice) and Justin (nice pics)!

Just wanted to thank everyone again for such a great event. Huge thanks goes out to Ted and his wife Dianna for putting on such an awesome event. I will certainly be there next year.

Also, thanks to Sia for letting me drive his extremely well set up 525i, and Mark for letting me ride in his M5. Both are very cool cars.

Met and saw some great people, cool cars, and tasty food/beer, what more could you ask for?

Wow...another Tedfest is now behind us...but not without leaving its mark. There is nothing like sharing good laughs, great food, and that exceptional bubbly fluid we call Beer amongst a group of outstanding friends and family.

Friday night was an absolute blast ....”have you thean my baethebaaalllllll”....I nearly blew a snot rocket when Eric so nonchalantly tossed that in when taking a picture with Jeremy and Ted (see image above in Ted’s post).

Saturday greeted us with perfect weather along with beautiful cars. The show was truly incredible. After the show with a cul-de-sac full of exceptional Bimmers, it was time to relax and enjoy some food and of course, BEER. The beer came in handy when the chili was brought out...let me tell ya! Again, Ted and Jeremy’s chili were uber hot and yummy. The competition is definitely tough to match....I still need a lot more practice.

Sunday morning was also a gorgeous...just the right weather for an exceptional pancake breakfast thanks to Guido and the Kalman family for the delicious fruit.

It was great to see some old friends again and meet some new BMW enthusiasts that took their time to drive great distances to join our Canuck gathering.

Thanks Ted for being the person you are. You certainly pulled off another memorable gathering of friends who share the same passion for these BMW machines. I'm privileged to be a part of this event every year.
Now for your better half.....your darling Dianna is a keeper. She’s a true sweetheart for putting up with a group of car nuts for one too many days.
