Hey Guys,
1st time e28 owner here. After a line of '02s, Bavarias, and admiring the old e28s, I've finally puchased my 1st one. It's a 1988 535is, silver w/dark blue interior, 5 speed, and very well maintained. I'm very pleased with it and look forward to regular participation on the board.
My first question revolves around rear subframe bushings and tire wear. My car needs the bushings replaced and I had intended on working on the project over the weekend. However, it looks like I will be making a 2000 mile round trip drive instead. Can failed rear subframe bushings have a significant impact on tire wear?
Should I be concerned about making a 2000 mile round trip with the bushings in bad shape?
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks,
02 Fan

Yes, in my case it does cause inner or middle of the tire wear. I replaced the dogbones and that cured some of the trouble. Next on the list is the subframe bushing replacement.
I have driven my car significantly more than 2000 miles without any trouble.
