OK, i'm running an 85 E23 B34, oil-pan-to-valave cover, with my original 83 B32 intake, ECU, etc. (83 533i)

I am aware of some slightcarbon buildup in the intake, but not a lot. the exhaust goes to a single 2.5" pipe + chambered muffler just ahead of where the cat was. it does need a valve adjustment, but outisde of that, the car is still NOT pulling well past about 5K.

if I could get it to pull TO 6K, I'd be happy.

I put an 84 633csi engine into my 88 325is, it pulls straight to redline I did a drive today and help off a M-coupe on the twisty roads. The Torque of the m30 is awsome. The engine has the 12lb flywheel and I converted the exhooassed to dual pipes all the way threw with dual cats. Other than that it's stock. Sounds like your's just may need a good tuneup, or run some of that Ventil-suaber stuff threw the intake to get rid of Carbon.
