Considerations for B35 intake - questions on CSV, etc.

I'm dismantling my B35 and B34 intake. On the B35 intake the spot that would host the CSV on the B34 has some sort of vacuum port, roughly 1/4 inch in diameter. It sticks out of the manifold. Obviously this must be removed for the CSV to be mounted. My question relates to removing this vacuum port. Two options come to mind.
1) The vacuum port is somehow screwed into the manifold and it just needs some Thor applied to unscrew it from the manifold.
2) The vacuum port is welded or integral to the manifold. This means I'd cut it off and drill out the hole to the proper size for the CSV.
Has anyone dealt with this issue? I'd like to do this with the least amount of damage or potential damage possible.

It's most likely pressed in. You can probably work it out with a pair of pliers or you could just run a drill down it.

It's not really relevant to your endeavor here, but as an FYI: while pulling my "new" M30B35 apart, it looks as if the port in question is for an electronic evaporative purge valve. There's no provision on the intake boot for the evap purge valve as on our cars.
