I bought some parts to get ready to do the e to i swap. The guy said the parts were off a 89 325i, but the fpr is a 2.5 bar. I thought the 325i used a 3.0. This makes me wonder what I really got. Could somebody please run these part numbers and let me know what they were originally on?
intake 1 289 211
tb 1 716 036
thanks
need part numbers ran on etk please

I compared the intake manifold on my eta and the one I purchased and the runners are shorter. This would lead me to believe that it could be an i manifold. Does anyone know the size of a 325i throttle body's opening? Could this be a way to ascertain if it is indeed an i. I'm just hoping somebody replaced the fpr with a 2.5 instead of the 3 that should be on this. I'm open to any other ideas to find out what this is. Thanks
The intake manfolds are all the same.
Sorry, should have said "325i manifolds are all the same part number". Neither of the numbers posted match the actual part numbers in the ETK, they are both probably casting part numbers. For those of you not aware, the number on many cast parts is not the actual replacement part number. There is a whole range of part numbers that are internal to BMW and are not published in the ETK or HTK.
A more complete answer would be, "I cannot find a match for either of those numbers in the ETK. The best assumption I can make from the number for the TB is that is it an eta part, as the number is close and falls in the range of eta TB part numbers. All 325i intake manifolds appear to be the same according to the ETK, and since the number you posted is a casting number, I cannot with certainty tell you from what what car that manifold came. Based on the presence of a 2.5 bar FPR and what the TB number seems to indicate, I would assume those are eta parts."
No good deed goes unpunished...

the more I check into things, I think it might be an i setup. I checked the fuel injector part numbers, and they are for a 325i. I measured the bore of the throttle body, and it is noticably larger than the one that is currently on my 88 eta. I am just hoping the previous owner put the wrong fpr on this thing.

It would certainly be easy to do. There are 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5 FPR's that are identical in appearance, so if the PO or his wrench didn't know there were different specs a 2.5 could easily end up where a 3.0 should be.
