I'm looking to mount a stereo in the trunk (or elsewhere). Blaupunkt used to have it's Berlin mondel 20 some years ago but I've yet to find anything similar and a working Berlin is high buck.
I mounted 3 gauges in the area that the radio goes. It gives great visibility, has ample room behind for wires etc. and it was easy to build a mounting system. Given this I need to find a different location for the head unit. Anyone got ideas?

What about the glove box?
The hard thing is that so many of the head-units have so many controls.
You might be able to get a head-unit with a remote control, and run an IR (infra-red) sensor to take the remote's IR signals back to the trunk.
Here is the IR unit I am thinking of:

Some combination of that.
