Today I drove TCD's Euro 745 tubo 5 speed. At first, I said, "Don't kill me, Todd. I have to go home today." When he put his foot into it, I'd guess around 30 mph, and shifted to second, the rear end came out and tried to get in front! Now, the road had a bit of moisture on it, but we're talking stout here.

Then he pulled over and let me have it. I got a little on it coming out on the road. A van in front of me caused me to pull over to the side on a straight away and let him get a 1/4 mile lead. ......and then it happened. First gear was pressing me into the seat as the tame beast roared to life and the rear end squated to make the asphalt pay homage to every bit of fresh rubber that was digging in. Second gear pushed back JUST as hard and down went the rear end in an indulgent thrust!

THRUST! Boys, this is what that baby is alllllllll about. You just can't know until you do the deed. Public roads were not made for this kind of test ride. I have been spoiled. I have seen the possibilities and they are MANIFEST.

TCD, you're doing great. Your results are a benefit to this whole community.

You just can't know. You just can't. Ya jus' can't.

Happy dreams tonight.

That's awesome.

I daydream about what an m30 turbo feels like. I have been in other turbo cars and try to extrapolate what the feeling would be like in an e28. Must be great!

You were in an e23. Think what an e28 must feel like! Or an e30!

The 745 folks have a test of performance, breaking the antenna on a high speed run. Yes in a chipped 745 with a bit of extra boost you can get well over 400 HP.

Well, that's just legend. The only legitimate dyno I have ever seen of a 745i was 282rwhp on 15psi. All those guys just talk about how much power they think they have.

This 745i has a totally different drivetrain and turbo setup than what it came with from the factory.

Cool, thanks for the info. I do like the interior, an L7 interior isn't it? And since it is an 82 it has the true sharknose doesn't it?
