Delphin Grey?
Cinnibar Red?
DiamondSchwartz?

And the rest....

If you could have any colour - what would it be?

For some reason I am very fond of white cars; Image

But, nothing shines quite like a dark color; Royal Blau Metallic, Black

Definately Henna Red. When I was selling BMWs (1986-1997) I hated Henna Red, and Reseda Green. Nineteen years later, they are my favorite BMW colors! I have always loved Lapis Blue and Diamond Black. WOW, how ironic, those are the colors of both of my e28s!!!

My first choice would be cinnabar red with full silber leather interior.
Second would be lachsilber with a full red leather interior
Third would be either royal blue, cosmos blue, or artiks blue with navy blue interior.

I'm partial to the darker exterior colors. Not a big fan of diamondswartz. Dark gray looks nice and royal blue, very nice too. Arctic Blue is interesting because depending on the light will appear from a grayish purple to very dark blue. Royal blue seems to have more visual depth though. A Royal Blue M535i would make my day :)

Not to copy Duke (and his leather fetish), but I'd take a Royal Blue M535i with the full leather interior. Dash, headliner, everything in either dove gray or lotus white (and perhaps both, like an L7) would make for a striking appearance. The complete leather interior really brings the E28 upscale, IMO. And no shadowline either, I dislike it except on certain colors.

#2 is Arctic Blue (MY 85 & 86)

In my opinion nothing looks better than a shiny schwarz BMW.
OK, I will expand that to any dark colored BMW.

FWIW,
Erik

Can't say I don't like my polaris silver example. Maybe a little boring but still looks nice, I think it suits this car well, especially with colour coded body kit.

My pic would be Cosmos Blue. My second favourite colour is the Burgandy Red Metallic.

Guys, how about a factory custom color? A metallic purple/royal blue is a favorite of mine, another is Tim the Enchanters Alpina kind of a grey green, and yet another is the Beige that Keith F has on his Hartge H7s. I have only seen two cars in the metallic purple/blue color, my Hartge and an 85 M635csi. Any other special order cars out there?
TIA

My personal faves are (in order of preference):

#1 Alpine White (my all time favorite for e28s; owned a white '87 with lama interior...my
first BMW)

#2 Royal Blue Metallic

#3 Any other shade of Blue offered (e.g., Cirrus Blue, Artic Blue)

#4 Bronzitbiege Metallic (very stealthy @ speed!)

#5 Delphin Grey Metallic & Polaris Silver (tie)

#6 Cinnibar Red (Hennarot was never offered on the e28, right? I love the hennarot
e30 ///M3); My annecdotal experience is that RED e28s are pretty rare...

#7 Diamondschwarz (never lived anywhere cold enough to own a BLACK car!)

Ultimately, at this point color is not a real factor....the condition of the car is what I go by now when buying an e28. Hence, I've ended up with a very clean bronzitbiege car by default...and it has grown on me. Ummmm....gold / tan...VERY 80's, eh? :D

DiamondSchwartz for BMW standard paint.

Jet glossy black if I could have any color I wanted.
