I found 735 sitting in Blackduck, a small town about 50 miles from the border. 180k on the clock, average interior for the age etc. There's some rust on one fender lip otherwise the thing is quite straight. Newer exhaust, front bushings look fresh, newer shocks, etc. Someone took care of this thing at one time.
Does anyone know an approx. value for the thing? The lot owner cited the Kelly book at $3500 as its asking price. He's smoking crack. He also has "rare" written in soap on the windshield to give you an idea of what he knows.
I'm thinking in the 1k or less category. Correct??
TIA
Value of an 87 735 ?'s

If it runs well and the HVAC works correctly including the a/c and the heat without the heater core leaking then the car is worth well over $1000 maybe even $2000 but you would need to find a willing buyer. Because of the cost of HVAC andheater core failures these cars are not loved in their senior years like an E28. 7s always drop in price fast. Too much advanced technology for their time to keep value. One has got to be able to work on them and limited production means not many will learn how during the life of the model.

Bill,
I agree with Blue Shadow wholeheartedly. Proceed with caution....
A couple of years ago, I tried to help a colleague sell her son's 745i (black on buffalo) that was in average condition....they practically had to give the car away. Fortunately, someone in the BMW community ended up with it...
Cheers,
Tim
