I used to have "TJ'S BMW" -- my cousin used to have "N8S BMW"
People always knew it was my car :) Had lots of people who knew me honk at me and what not.

I went through this with my former PCar...you'll have to be creative in Florida. My advice is to take a list of your top 10 to 15 prospects (prioritized) down to the Florida DMV and ask the clerk to see which ones, if any, are still available. Let us know what you find out...and BTW, Shawn D is right....no one else has your current tag # so it is "customized" already ;) Save your money....I did!
Cheers,
Tim

I never went for 'custom' plates becasue they are so much easier to remember with a quick glance by say, law enforcement officials, but when I saw an article about special edition state plates the police want to discontinue due to their inability to see the plate clearly, I got that plate. There was a one time up-charge (to support the plates cause) and then just annual renewals at the same rate as other plates. Some states charge a fee for special plates every year.

i have "88 5er" on my car..

originally wanted "88 IS" but they put my address in wrong and I never got the plate so they had to put it in as lost which means 18 months till someone can get it again..

on another note i have "RALLYBTR" for my 89 nissan sentra used for rally cross (autocross in dirt).. its my "rally beater"

Orygun only allows 6 characters so it's challenging. I was thinking "FIRST5", but then decided on "FNFER", a play on the German spelling of five, fnf.

How about something cop-friendly so that you DON'T get pulled over more often? :)

That opens up the ultimate question:

Would you get pulled over MORE often or LESS often if your plate said "ILUVPIGS"?

That one was for Jim @ Da Shop :p

OINKOINK? That one is good!
RUNPIGGY

Plates that make fun of cops.... there's plenty of those :)

AGRLS5ER -- I've seen that before

The problem with some people and custom plates is that sometimes you have no idea what they say. Don't get a plate like IGTCTMPL (I got a custom plate) -- cause nobody will understand it.
or "Untdwesd" (united we stand)

how about "My e28"? or "Mye28" or "My 5er" or "My5er"

lots of choices!!!

I have a police retirement fund plate, thanks to the previous owner (thanks, Tom!!!). I'm sure it helps out, something has to be keeping them from pulling me over every day! :D I had an FOP badge as well, but someone STOLE that, what jerks. 88 535is, I would probably just get 535is or something, unless you can think of something you really like. It's pretty easy to make the plate tacky, and remember, it's gonna be on the car for a long time.

Hey, Nick, what did you use to mount that plate? I have the front rubber that says BMW on it, no frame or anything. I like the Euro plates, even though my car is federal. Looks nice on your car, I like the 's, very German.

Ohh boy, my friend has a great sense of humor and had to get DS NUTS as a personalized plate. Pretty darned funny, eigh. People honk and wave and say things at stop lights like That is some funny ass shiot. Hahaha

It is especially funny to hear a police officer tell you, as you were driving your friends car at 3 am, that the next time he sees DS NUTS speeding thru his speed trap he will take you in.

Some states have websites where you can enter what you want and it will determine the eligibility.

Yeah i just took off my plate and the thing behind it. Its like a semi-plate. Take all that off and i bought a bracket along with my plate. It was $15 i think. It had a bunch of differntly shaped and placed wholes on it and 2 just lined up with the holes. Some of my friends drill holes right into their Euro plates and mount em. HTH

OK, perhaps the coffee is kicking in slow today, but I'm not getting it. "D's nuts"? "dee-ess nuts"? "duh snuts"?

I used to have a bumper sticker that said "Bad Cop, No Donut!". Now I have one that says "Like a Rock -- Only Dumber". Guess "W"hose picture graces it...
