Tedfest 2010 Summary

Post by Ted in T.O. »

Another year of preparations have gone by in 4 days and 18 hours of sleep on the couch. Everybody had a great time. There were fantastic cars and people present at this event that went off without any major problems other than me forgetting a few things. There were 92 cars that showed up which was 9 more than last year and the quality of them was exceptional.Well on to the pictures

What would a Tedfest be without the warmup parties Thursday and Friday.

My wife Dianna for cooking the 2 double batches of potato salad and 6 dozen chocolate chip cookies.
Eddie and Peter for stepping up once again to man the 2 BBQ's and a few others that volunteered their time to get things going.

As a former Tedfest Team Member, I can certainly say the event has grown from it's very humble beginnings back in 2003. Back then, we lined up four cars in Ted's court for a photo shoot (plus beer and some food). The next year, the event was officially called Tedfest: "Canada's Classic BMW Car Show.".

Wow, lots of modern cars represented at this years show, e.g., the new 5 Series. This has been a growing trend over the years. With promotional efforts and ongoing sponsorship, the sheer volume or number of cars, from vintage to modern, will continue to grow well into the future.

Oh, and next year, the Event Team may want to think about changing the name to Tedfest: Canada's BMW Show." Just a thought. ;)

It was a great event, associating names with screen names, and seeing old friends was a real treat. A big thanks again to Ted, Dianna, Rebecca, and Heather for being especially welcoming hosts, and good company. I'll be back next year! And as for the 2500, it won't be leaving the stable any time soon if I can help it, but in all fairness Todd did call dibs. Best,
Justin

Wow, what an event! It was great to see old and meet new friends this year.
I can't believe how many '02's showed up too! Awesome!

As for our American friends and Craig from Calgary, thank you for coming and creating some good times!

This was one of my favourite moments.
