WTB E28 in South Texas
WTB E28 in South Texas
Been looking on craigslist for about 6 months with little luck so I thought I'd post here.
Preferably looking for a 535i but will consider 533i's and early model 528e's.
The car must be a manual and DD worthy, my price range is 2K or lower.
Thanks for your time.

I'm not sure how far this seller is from you, but it sounds promising.
Good luck!

$1,150 - looks clean, a/c and heat working... seems a bit of a no-brainer

Yeah, I saw it when it was originaly posted for 2k. The main thing stopping me from getting it is that it's an auto,
are they really as bad as people make it out to be? But since it would be my first E28 I guess
I wouldn't know what I was missing if it was a 5spd. Could be a Ignorance is bliss situation.

Another 700 bucks and
$1800.00 for a 535is ..would be worth the drive to big D..
Enjoy!
And yes the car is mine, selling due to another project.

Mine's an auto.. 197k miles.. had it two years (181k when I bought it), and it's been good to me. My E39's already got the 6-speed so I'm not chomping at the bit to do the conversion. I'll get around to doing a 5-speed after this slushbox explodes.Will_L wrote:Yeah, I saw it when it was originaly posted for 2k. The main thing stopping me from getting it is that it's an auto,

First thing I did when I took delivery of my 87 was change the filter and replace the fluid. Filter looked clean, as did the fluid indicating that the PO's kept up with it. I wouldn't worry about it. At 1150, if it lasts a year while you source out a 5-speed swap's worth of parts (bet Sherman or someone nearby has most of the parts already or knows where to get them in quick fashion), you'd get your money's worth out of it.

But I did swing by and take a peek.
I wondered why the passenger side wasn't photoed and displayed in the ad.
Rear door and quarter had some damage.
The owner was flipping the car and sold it for 1K.
Even with the damage, it was worth the $.
I think you missed a good one, no clear coat peel, two owner car.
Good luck as you continue your search.
We tried.Will_L wrote:Save me from buying a 325e Bump.
