Unfortunate news. Please read and pass on.

Post by Parts Dept »

At this time all MYE28, S14.net, Roundel and any other internet mail order parts discount codes are expired. Unfortunately this program has come to an end. Upper mgmt makes the calls, and I must follow them. I cannot ellaborate as to all the reasons.

In the future we may have an automated webpage where one can order parts through. I will of course inform if and when this happens.

I wish to thank each and everyone of you who has done business with me in the past. If it werent for you, I wouldnt be here. Many many thanks to all. :alright:

See you on the forums.

Rats. They've been running those big ads in the Roundel, too - I figured that meant management thought it was a good (and profitable) idea.

edit: to be clear, does this mean you're out of the mail order business altogether, or just that we can't get the double secret discount?

Wow. I was worried about the possibility of this when we spoke the other day, I just didn't realize it could happen so soon. I'm glad I got that big order in last week.

Sad day :bawl:

Thanks for the fun while it lasted. I am also glad I got that last order in just before your vacation.

We can still toss stuff your way for quotes, and see what prices come back, or is this window to the parts desk closed?

Beyond the discount codes being expired, are you still able to search the world for various unobtainium, like the NOS M5 wheels and bumper kits and spoilers, and other items? Maybe the pricing will not be as good, but even finding that stuff is an incredible value......

Here's to hoping!

Yeah, I suspect everyone reading this thread just sent him an Email. I'm about to buy a part for a car I don't own yet which breaks a HUGE personal rule.

Chattanooga BMW has also been advertising in the back of the Roundel. I'm wondering if the other dealers are going to continue their programs or discontinue them...maybe the corporate guys don't want all these dealers selling outside their territories. Just thinkin'.

Brian thanks for all you've done!!!

I just want to clarify... We can only call you for orders now & cannot send them through email? Or is it that we can no longer get these discount coupon rates you speak off? I'm not familiar with those.

Pretty much done with any mail orders. Local sales only. We are experiencing growing pains here and have to adjust. Kinda like back when we moved here 5 years ago. Im confident we will be back bigger and better to serve everyones needs.

It was such a valuable service. Just yesterday I talked to Brian about getting an OEM Boysen muffler from a 745i and evidently made it JUST under the wire. I hope.

 Arghh...

Man I was just speaking to you on the phone yesterday about my headlamp washer system order. Am I under the wire?

Well, I was just getting into my parts supply addiction (you know you were nothing but a pusher, right?). Guess I'll have to wean off a bit.

Along with everyone else, I wanted to thank you for offering the entire community a tremendous resource and service. I'm hoping you'll be able to bring it back to us in the (near) future. If we ever cross paths in person, the beers are on me.

Advise if we can promote a speedy return to the national discount e28/vintage BMW business to your management. If public support for such an investment can help to make it a reality, then let us know who to write or call. Many of us have come to value not only your service but the prompt and accurate access to vintage BMW OEM parts (MicahO ^)

The website approach is well conceived. We've come to rely on you personally, Brian, but the rest of the staff there could be nearly as helpful with your training/coaching. We (purchasers) could cut out a lot of your personal handling time by being able to link to an order desk on-line, allowing you and the staff more time there at the counter or in the packaging room filling orders.

Thanks for all you've done for the Mye28.com members and for my e28s!

Thanks Brian, I really appreciate the efforts you went through to help me up here in the north.

Can we still get parts numbers from you? Sometimes when I look on Realoem I can't find what I'm looking for and the local dealer has no clue or desire to help.

Thanks Very Much for the personalized service and discount on the orders I placed with you. I hope your management recognized what I perceive to be a positive contribution to the bottom line you efforts provided.....

I also hope they reconsider this decision.....I appreciated the opportunity.

Brian,
What everyone else has said, and then some. Thanks to you, I was able to afford a new m-tech kit/bumpers.
There WILL be a time when me meet, and you had better be off work the next day, because you're going to have a free headache, beer induced or  daquiris.
Thanks dood!

Brian,
Always a pleasure to deal with you at the Parts Department of BMW of CHA. I suspect you'll be back, hopefully sooner than you think and with that shiny new website you were mentioning. I'm only sorry I didn't get my last order in before this news. Hang in there buddy. We appreciate all your efforts to keep our cars rolling. There's nothing quite like the warm glow of new parts from the Parts Department. Always a welcome site...

you say this as if the corporate guys actually think.

For example....

I needed some teeny light bulbs for my e36 obc, local dealer wants almost 12 dollars each,(plus tax!) I needed 4. Was going to be over 50 bucks.
Instead, I ordered from Pelican in Cali-freaking-fornia, for 2 and change each, and a couple bucks for shipping.

It makes no sense that insead of my driving a couple of minutes down the road, the little bulbs have to travel from germany across the atlantic, then all they way across the continent twice to make it back to me.

The local dealer parts guys says "oh but Canadians parts are traded vs the Euro, and the Americans have US dollar pricing" Who fed him that line?

If Brian would have shipped to Canada, (which was not an option for him - I accept that) it would have been even cheaper.

Brian,

I had just gotten started on my parts addiction with you, and it was good to meet you at The Vintage, but now I'm cut-off--cold turkey! Where the hell else am I going to get a NLA shift knob for my M5? Hope your back soon and thanks again. It was a pleasure doing business with you.

Oh well, thanks for offering the discount Brian. Guess I better get shopping.

Damnit! That reallllly sucks considering I was just about to put in a huuuge order for all my synchros and roller bearings and needle cages for my transmission. I imagine it was going to be expensive even with the discount, now I'm just gonna get raped on the price for these parts :x

It was great while it lasted Brian, and I really do appreciate all the hard work you've done to help this community keep their passion alive on a budget. I have a feeling they'll come around and start it back up. And when you do, you'd better be ready, gonna my moneys gonna be burnin' a hole in my wallet. ;)
