Topics I'm watching

Post by wkohler »

Is there any way to stop watching all topics I'm watching? I really don't want to have to go through every thread and undo it manually. Selecting the option in the profile settings was unsuccessful, as I figured it would be.

The only way I know of is to do them one at a time :(

Even if you were to manipulate the database directly, the list of users watching the topic is stored in the topic database entry, not the user's database entry, so it's scattered. With some scripting you could do it, but I'd put it firmly in the category of "more trouble than it's worth"

Plus if that script is only slightly screwed up, it could be catastrophically bad for the whole database.

Wait for an email notification to come in and click the link that stops it. Do this one at a t ime as they come in and it'll all be good.

And since apparently there is no easy way to do it in the forum software, you could add a filter to your email (maybe "reply topic") to dump them all into one folder. That way you can just sit and breeze through the notifications clicking those stop links when you have a chance, and you won't be bothered with the notifications in your inbox.
