Can we move all these stickies to the Tech FAQ section?
This would clean up the board a great deal and to make it easy, a list of the topics in the Tech FAQs could be the one and only sticky on the Tech Talk forum.
Then when someone asks the question that is fully covered they can be sent to that list of links to the topics and ridiculed for not reading ONE and only ONE thread, that list of Tech FAQS, the only sticky on the tech board where the guy is trying to get an answer.
Makes sense to me but I haven't thought it through completely.
What say you?

I mentioned a similar idea a couple of months back in another thread and Jeremy said he would be contacting the various sticky authors to see if they would be willing to modify their respective posts so that the posts conform to the required Tech FAQ format. Hopefully there is some progress soon on that front.
That's pretty much the crux of the problem. FAQs that "make the cut" need to be as clear, concise, complete, and accurate as possible. I prefer a single post with all the relevant information contained therein. 3 - 7 pages worth of questions, answers, and disambiguation/clarifications doesn't fit the bill.Shawn D. wrote:Why don't you folks who want them cleaned up and moved get the authors to edit/finalize them and get the board's seal of approval? Then one of us Beamters will move them.

That post made almost no sense.
This thread shows when you click "View Your ... Threads" at the top right of the main page. Shouldn't be difficult to find. It's certainly not a tech question, and contains no tech content at all, so don't even try to convince me it belongs there. General Conversation would've been ok, but it really belongs here. Why are people so uppity all of a sudden about thread relocation?
Just the title and link have to be good? The content doesn't matter at all? Seriously?

Just jack up your fleet and support (Not monetarily BTW) them in the proper manner and take pictures. You need to get it done this Christmas as well 'cuz the end of the world is NEXT December 21st, so things will be a bit disorganized next year.wkohler wrote:I think the Spark Plug FAQ is done. Just remove the LOLOMGWTFBBQ in front of it.
I guess I'm still trying to learn how the camera works for photos in the "How to properly raise and support your E28" thread. I keep saying I'll get them up by Christmas. I never said which.

You gotta know it is because I am a moderator on another board and I do NOT have that option!!!Shawn D. wrote:I can see you're upholding your status as the #1 complainer about threads being moved! :rofl:Blue Shadow wrote:What the heck, once the moved: is dropped from this topic in Tech Talk, I'll never find this thread again. Oh well. Maybe something can be done about this issue.

I do not cruise the Comments forum.Jeremy wrote:That post made almost no sense.

I don't usually look at 'view my threads.'
Having this on a forum that many do not surf means less folks will see it and add to the ones that think the stickies should be moved.
The thread concerned the stickies in Tech Talk and that was where I mistakenly put it. It was moved to the dead zone because you guys can move threads. If you think it could have passed muster in General, maybe that would have been the right move to allow this thread a larger viewing audience than putting it in Comments.
Whatever, I'm just looking to have the stickies put in Tech FAQ and having a linked list of topics as the only sticky in Tech Talk. Seems easy enough compared to trying to reverse engineer the schematic of a Response Audio Purity One preamp.
Seems ALL the responses indicated this decrease in the stickies would be a great move. Let me know if I can help.
