Car is looking great
Have not been on here for awhile, but it is nice to see this update. Such a nice car, looking forward to seeing more info.

Bummer. I would love to see this thing but I also wouldn't mind smelling your interior again in that M535!wkohler wrote:No. No chance on that. It's too far. I'm going to be there in an E28, but not sure which one yet. Perhaps the M535 again. That's a 4,000 trip once it's all said and done.clangpap wrote:Wow Chris. Any chance for Portland in July?
I guess we will all have to go to Phoenix. When is your Phoenix Fest Chris?jay wrote:Bummer. I was kinda hoping the photos would speak for themselves, but I guess not.
I finally found someone I feel comfortable enough with to paint a car. It had gotten so bad, I was ready to give up. We were shooting for middle of November (well, I wasn't really, but he didn't have anything scheduled then - he was working solid for the last year - weird) but the smaller project ahead of mine is out until after Jan 1, so I'm up a lot quicker than I thought/wished/hoped. Car goes in at the end of next week. The photos below were taken this morning. Most of tonight's work was inside the car (and the sunroof). I am probably done until Sunday unless I get off early tomorrow night, so we'll see. Basically, all that's left to come out is the dash. I'm planning on driving the car to the shop, so the windows, lights and the the tail lamps are coming out when I get there. That said, I'm probably going to chicken out and trailer it. Doors, tail panel, hood and maybe the front valance are going to be replaced. I only have the tail panel. Still waiting on the front spoiler, though communication has finally resumed on that.
I will post some photos of some of the interesting things I've found/removed from the car during this process. Haven't taken them yet, so it won't be now.

Exciting! I'm in the middle of prepping my own car for paint, very much looking forward to it. Best of luck with it, mate. It's a stressful process but worth it. You doing the proper prep work yourself, or just the stripping?
Wish I'd thought of this earlier, but would you be able to make and send to me a template for the Alpina rear spoiler mounting holes? I've got a bootlid riddled with oversize holes, from the original Mtech spoiler, and my guesstimating for the Alpina spoiler, so will probably just get a replacement lid from the yard and would like to do it properly this time.
